Yes, I lived through that era. They certainly had a stronghold on the top of the charts, but there were several other composers who were also doing very very well from 1990-1995. Nadeem-Shravan did not become a household name in 1990 alone. It was well after 1991's Sadak and Saajan that they became consistent. I would say it was early 1992 after they won their second Filmfare Award, and then the release of Deewana and Dil Ka Kya Kasoor that they were truly seeing superstardom and others really took them seriously.

IA w you that 2000-2009 had excellent music. But in the 90s there were lots of good composers not just Nadeem Shravan. You cant really quantify NS as the best of the best. They won a ton of awards but Rehman won more. If you look at highest grossing film for each year of the 1990s all of them have different composers. NS Duo appear twice but so AM an JL. Rehman is best selling music director. NS have 4 of the 10 highest selling albums of all time. An thats a great accolade. But only 3 actual years they had highest selling album. I think its all subjective. Your trying to prop them up too much.

Your bias is evident when you claim QSQT songs are nothing special. QSQT changed film music and was an iconic musical hit, single handedly catapulted Alka and Udit to top league.

Anand Milind were fresh in style.

Alka was praised by Lata Mangeshkar for her QSQT songs.

Udit remained voice of Aamir Khan and preferred choice for younger actors for decade after QSQT.

It just seems you want to downplay success and talent of other music albums, music directors and singers just to prop up those who worked with Sonu Nigam whose only claim to fame in 90s was being a wannabe Rafi duplicate and recreating Rafi songs.

Finally, SEL are good but they are nowhere comparable to peak and versatility of AR Rahman of 90s. If different music was accepted in 2000s it was only because of change brought by AR Rahman in 90s. ARR of 90s is genius and magical. He was so brilliant that even his songs from Southern films were recreated in Hindi films back then.

I just wanna mention this since he said QSQT is nothing special.

Apple Music India has recently added a new playlist called Bollywood in Spatial Audio. The songs in this playlist have been mixed according to the new Lossless sound technology.

The songs are from mainly the 2000-present era and from different composers and it looks like they got the rights of mainly YRF films.

However, the only songs from the 90s which aren't belonging to YRF are Aye Mere Humsafar, Papa Kehtein Hai and Sheher Ki Ladki. And I mean the original tracks have been used, these are not remixes.

Yes and if we look thru the career of Aamir Khan (An actor not even that well known for the singing and dancing.) His main ICONIC song is Papa Kehte Hain. While Tanhayee is enjoyable. PKH is the topper

nothing downplay here forget sonu here. udit narayan was a monotonous singer with or without sonu intervention in debate, whenever i talk about udit severe limitations as a singer why the heck u always bring sonu to it , debate on one artist only then we can move to another 😉
