She is a lot more intelligent than people think and is pretty by European standards, not BW. I personally find her pretty but she lacks oomph and sex appeal.

I think she is perceived as foxy and bratty. And being so closely associated with nepotism and Karan doesn’t do her any favour.

People dislike her because they want their faves to the get the movies she gets. They think everything comes to her too easily because KJo gives her some of the best female roles available.

I have not seen people dislike Alia in real life. In real life people rather like her a lot among new actresses.

I do not understand her appeal though. I find her overrated in every department.

At the most reason for dislike could be due to lack of looks and those silly answers in interviews and getting too much success, hype, chances, awards at a too young age. She got too much too soon, a lot of which, seems undeserved or handed on a platter due to nepotism and favours she gets due to K Jo. Rest of the hate she gets online is due to her being a Bhatt. Mahesh, Pooja, Soni have have very strong political opinions and are vocal about it online. They are pro INC and criticise present BJP govt. This is why IT cell hate for Bhatt family gets transferred to Alia who gets brickbats whether she makes any political comments or not.

She has no personality. Tries to ape Kareena and Deepika. It’s everything else about her.

She does have an annoying personality. Wherever she goes her constant hyperactiveness and screeching make my ears bleed. I think she tries too hard to come across as "cute" or bubbly girl next door.

She seems like a pretty decent person actually and acts well but she should take some elocution or poise classes. The BUBBLINESS and LACK OF VOICE MODULATION in interviews is annoying. It's very JLaw circa 2013 and even JLaw herself has retired that act.

But other than that she seems like the average SoBo kid- a bit in her bubble but not particularly unlikable, bitchy or catty. On a sidenote- while not the most drop dead gorgeous, she does have good taste and I like what she wears in non-Indian clothes.

Hope she goes for something non-Sabya for her wedding. Really doesn't vibe with her persona.

I don't mind if she goes for Manish Malhotra actually. He styled Varun-Natasha on their wedding right?? I thought Natasha looked really cute and pretty in the light coloured lehenga and minimal jewellery. That kind of look I think would suit Alia more than the fully bedecked Maharani look the other actresses went for on their big day.

More than personality I feel Alia is disliked by a portion coz the movies she got after her debut were literally hand picked and given to her on platter . No one can deny that Kjo had a huge hand at that.

Granted Alia is a good actress but any other heroine also who got the kind of movies she did SO early in their careers - Highway, Raazi , etc would have gone leaps ahead in their career if they had the same backing like Alia !

Kriti Sanon and Shradhha for example had to work so hard to get a good meaty role in a film. But Alia got it all in a blink of a second and didn’t have to struggle at all!
