Not so happy with Arunita comming as a mentor in Super Singer

She has already proven herself in a reality show. This is a time she should focus more on her own singing, training and other singing opportunities and not stuck in television reality shows which led to create un necessary hype just for the sake of entertainment.

Dangerous for the career to be labelled as "reality tv star" than as a "singer".

I think it's a good opportunity for Arunita. Kids have such a different approach to music.She might learn something. Listening and mentoring them may inspire her too.

I think this one is okay. She is still very, very young. This way she gets to stay in Mumbai, with all expenses paid, plus earn some money. She is already a good singer, she should continue with her riyaz, and besides a singer will always learn something from a musical show. While doing the show she can look for playback singing opportunities - but yes, after this she should focus only on her singing career.

I agree.
All singers do reality shows if they get a chance.
It is not as if she is flooded with work which she is ignoring to do reality shows.
Work may take some years to come. Good work that she can make a name with.
In the meantime if she hangs out in Mumbai someone will have to pay the bills.
Visibility is also a factor. Someone like Sachin has come back for fresh visibility, as did PD, Neelu.
It is great if she could concentrate on riyaz, learn new skills and while doing so get meaningful work. But meaningful work can take time. Just riyaz and new skills won't get you new work unless someone gets to hear it or talk about it.
Most importantly, she is signed with Sony. Getting work is difficult while she is signed by them because they ask for steep fees. Most music directors are unwilling to pay for something that usually comes free to them. I know for a fact that Arunita is unable to cut any songs in Bengali at this time because of Sony's rates.
So, what is better. This work or no work, just skill sharpening and slow descent into obscurity?

True. And that is perhaps what will be the big issue with the show for fans here.

Arunita will be as singer only in next Octopus project.
