I don't think I'll be able to enjoy it as much if all her books went the same way, as I've heard is the case with this one and her first book. I hope that's not the case. I'll like to read more of Lahiri's works.

I am dragging myself through it, finding it very boring

You might like it though. All the stories in this book are very different to each other.

Also, I am on one story right now which is written in second person and im finding it very weird since ive never ready a book like that before.😆

Yeah I get what you mean. Even in the reviews I read that her books are too similar and this one is just like her first one. But I was just trying to encourage you to keep reading.😆

Its Part Two. Hema and Kaushik. It addresses the other person as "you" instead of "him".

So, I finished Unaccustomed Earth yesterday. I liked it. I would've liked it even better if at least a few of them had happy endings but I get that that would've broken the theme. The stories weren't plot centered but this was one of the books where I enjoyed the character analysis that goes on through their thoughts.

The one part which bothered me was the first chapter of Hema and Kaushik's story, where I couldn't figure out which of them was the girl and which one was the boy and that sort of made it difficult to follow the story since I didn't understand the characters well. At the beginning I thought that the narrator was a boy and the other kid was a girl, then I thought they were both girls and then it turned out that the narrator was the girl and the other kod was the boy

Still reading it 😆 I ended up getting distracted and reading a couple of other books.

Do you girls have a monthly TBR written down or in your head or do just go with the flow and read as per your mood?
