Akshara is NOT some shrinking violet that is shy and unable to speak. This was obvious during the trip when Arohi was sitting there like a idiot batting her eyelids at Abhimanyu but Akshara was chatting away. Arohi like most girls/guys will say and do what they thinks their crush likes - but not Akshara.
Within 30 mins of meeting Abhimanyu, Akshara said:
I don’t think I will see you because I am here to spend time with my family.
I don’t want to change who I am to become like you. (Unlike Fattu who was like I was to be just like you).
You and my sister may be doctors who think they have the cure for everything but I believe in home remedies.
Take again the way she rejected Abhi. She stayed silent during the Tilak, not because she was scared but because she was genuinely confused. She is in love with Abhi but didn’t know how to react to his confession along with his rejection of her sister. Once she decided to let go of Abhi she took the situation into her own hands and faced the entire Birla clan. On her own. This is not a weak move.
And finally today, her conversation with Arohi. Trying to explain to her stupid immature younger sister that staying silent and listening to her taunts is a conscious act on her part. It is not a sign of weakness but a sign of her wanting to keep the family together.
In that moment I could see why Abhimanyu is so taken with her. She is his mirror image except for the fact that they have take two different attitudes to their family (his is probably linked to his father and Neil).
Today Akshara started the journey of making Abhi part of the priority list in her life which until now only had her family. She stayed back for Abhi to bring a smile to his face. Soon we will see this grow with time until one day Abhi becomes the most important person for her.
