The way he was so casual asking Ishu, who is sick and immediately sits up when he realizes it was Sonakshi! Loved it! Watched that reaction so many times!

Exactly. All the characters are given importance in first season so that no one feels incomplete or wasted. But Season 3 made almost all characters incomplete.

He never knew emotions and didn't know how to handle what he felt... The trauma of losing a parent, added to that is the mountain of guilt by the other parent, no wonder he was scarred. He didn't realize he was in love for so long, even though I think he fell in love with Sonakshi a long time before he actually realized it.

I think he was attracted to her right from the start and fell in love when they danced for the first time.

I think he was attracted to her right away too, not in an obvious way.. he was flirting when they danced the first time.. and was trusting her with his family(which is huge) when even his sister knew she could use Sonakshi to sway him and get her way. He was definitely in love by the time he broke her phone. He was so restless and anxious that she was upset, she may have cried.. he couldn't work, concentrate nothing. He was clearly in love with her then.

Agree! I’m actually also rewatching because I want to pinpoint the moment he fell in love. It’s my theory too that he was in love with her first, waaayyy before Sona realized that she loved him. Would be interesting to see 🥲

Actually it doesn't explain why only one child had to suffer...maybe that'll be revealed in the next few episodes. I'll wait.

I think what happened was, both Dev and Neha were going to school when Devs dad was alive.

Once he died Neha was made to stay home and look after Riya and Nikki who were too small for school

Because Dev is said to be 28 I think and Nikki is in college so 18-19

almost a 10 year difference

and I think Dev started doing a job after school soon.

Maybe Riya and Nikki joined school a year or two late?

It is a bit confusing but since they were small it was easier to put them in their respective year age wise and they caught up

but Neha had missed a lot so had no option to study ahead later once they had money

Dev was 9-10 years old when his father died, so I'm assuming Neha was 7-8, Riya was 1-2 and Nikki was just a few months old. Assuming that Dev started working at 9, maybe by the time Nikki was 6 (first standard) they had just enough money for school or maybe govt. school at least. Neha might still have had to stay back to watch the kids when they got back home from school.

By then Neha would've been 14 (roughly the age for crossing 10th grade) so she wouldn't have had a chance to go back , since she missed a lot of key years from 2nd to 10th grade.

Dev was 8 when his dad passed away. I think it makes more sense if Ishwari was pregnant with Nikki at the time. Nikki was still in college (bachelor's if I am not wrong) in S1. So the age difference doesn't make sense unless we consider the scenario above.

That would mean an age gap of 9 years between Dev and Nikki.

Let's consider Riya to be an year or two older than Nikki. So both of them were too small for school at the time.

Assuming both of them started first standard when they were 6, that still leaves 4 years between their father's passing and them starting school.

As you said, Dev would have started working by then so they would have had enough extra cash to send them to a government school.

Poor Neha would have already missed most of her primary school by then. Maybe she resumed her studies at a Hindi-medium school later? She doesn't seem to be illiterate - just not fluent in English.

Also one thing that I wonder about is how any 28 year old head a large organization. A startup maybe. But a mobile company (manufacturing requires a lot of upfront capital investment!)??

I think Dev started with an older partner when he was still in college (has to be IIT Delhi, lol). Later, after they had secured enough investment, the Partner left for greener pastures and Dev took over. Can't think of any other plausible explanation.
