His guilt stems from his insecurities which he never dealt with properly. The insecurities cause him to react irrationally, at least more than the average, emotionally stable human being, so he messes up, a lot. That mess up is something he's aware of though --> so then his guilt gets triggered --> he can't live properly with the guilt nor can he process it properly --> does something irrational, drastic, or destructive, or just not the right thing, to fix it / make him forget / move on from what happened.
I personally don't think he went nuts over E. But that's something everyone will have their own opinions on. The only fact we have to go off of is his dialogue from the show - where he stated and restated multiple times that he only loves Pallavi.
His fear of losing Pallavi, his guilt of what he did to her knowing it will break her, is what causes him to go into survival mode of "let me put 100 billion bandages on this and I can ignore the cracks" . This is how he operates. He dwells less on the mistake and more on how to move on / rectify it.
While I don't like that he was angry with P as a consequence of his own guilt - it's not an uncommon reaction. People don't behave perfectly in every situation. He has destructive qualities and that's what came out. When we're stressed, we lash out. It's not right. I called out R multiple times about this, but that's just how he reacted. It was messed up, but now he's facing the consequences of his actions.
The positive is that his last convo with LWR is what has now got him thinking of how he actually reacts in tough situations and how destructive his behavior can be. So maybe now we'll see a real improvement.
The fault of MHRW writers is they show very little to no character progression or improvement. Neither R or P truly learned from their past mistakes/circumstances/life problems like a normal person would. Maybe this last track will get that going but up until now they have the same behavioral patterns as the beginning of the show. There may have been slight improvements here and there, but not really. That's why R is in this constant cycle of making mistakes and being guilty and P is in this constant cycle of thinking everyone is great and no one can do wrong until they actually do something drastically bad.
At the end of the day it's ITV - you know how this will end, lol.
