I was trying to think what was the point of having Mallu in the story... And I finally figured it out.

If Batukiya is the typical ITV ML... Mallu is the Nibbi that drools over the likes of them... The one who 'sees something good in the hero' and tries to 'bring it out' or 'cure him with her love'

Makers intended to have her as a word of caution which my father also told me on my 18th birthday. That never ever believe that your 'love' will change someone or cure someone... Changes have to come from inside... Not because of anyone else specifically. If you try to 'change' someone, you are more likely to succumb to negativity yourself. It happened to Bon in the Sanyasini track, and it happened to Mallu now...
