In his initial journey he was part of the creme de la creme. And haven't there been articles about how he was seen as the next big thing/superstar on the block, the a listers used to take his name saying when asked such questions about who is the upcoming talent.
If he was at such a stage, i wonder why nothing happened more than that. Like nothing really took off for him, people recognised his potential. So what was it that didn't work for him. Poor danny!

Pehle toh when you're the next big thing there are 10 people trying to pull you down. So Danish was a threat to his contemporaries, and even some seniors coz lets be honest, humne India mein bhi iske jaisa package dekha hai kya? Itna good looking, itna talented, itna sex appeal, ye agar Bollywood mein hota toh literally rule karta. Toh his contemporaries made contacts, did makkhan bhaji where needed, socialised, and took the better scripts, jismein average acting bhi chal jayegi coz story itni tagdi thi.
Danish always comes across as an ambivert, leaning towards introvert. Matlab he won't just open up to everyone so he comes across as snobbish. But in his own circle voh bahot comfy hoga. See his Wajood promotions, he is very chilled around both Saeeda and Additi. In fact he follows Additi on Insta also. Matlab ye dono bhi uske jaise honge. Toh aise insaan ko pasand hai ki apna kaam kiya and ghar aa gaye. Faltu ki bak-bak nahi, promotions nahi. They don't want to bring their work home. Isme kya hua ki ache scripts uske contemporaries leke chale gaye, and baaki logon ko misconception tha. Toh Danish ko Gunehgaar type ke scripts mile. Still bande ne bahot variety of shows and telefilms ki, and sab mein ek se badke ek kaam kiya.
Ab next, Danish ke body language se pata chalta hai ki he has a lot of self-respect. Matlab voh har jagah chichora nahi hoga, zyada over sweet nahi banega. Uske self-respect pe aayi toh he'll even walk out of a project. And aise hi hona chahiye. Again...logon ko ye baat bhi pasand nahi. Chatugiri nahi karta na. Plus threat bhi tha and insecurity hoti thi.
Ek aur major cheez, he was dating Ayeza. Baaki male actors ko hoga na, ki Ayeza top pe thi, Danish utna popular nahi hua tha tab, toh bhi Ayeza did not even once think ki I'll move on to greener pastures or whatever. She loved him and stuck by him no matter what. That way jealousy bhi aa gayi, kyunki Ayeza Danish ko chodhke kisi aur ki taraf dekhti bhi nahi thi.
Toh ek ajeeb sa boycott wala scenario ho gaya. Ab hua kya ki he has his own family business toh uspe bhi dhyan diya when he wasn't getting the best work. Plus uski family values bahot strong hai, toh voh bhatka nahi, jo mila usme perform kiya. But then there were people like Jawed Sheikh and Kadwani-Qureshi sahab who saw his potential and gave him multiple projects.
Ayeza se shaadi ke baad it made a difference coz she was the bigger name. Hum mein ek kahavat hoti hai ki ghar mein Laxmi jab aati hai toh bahot saari achi cheezein hone lag jaati hai. And Laxmi as in female presence which leads to wealth, work, basically becoming prosperous. Pehle Ayeza, then Hoorain...dekho kismat badal gayi 
Gradually Danish ne Lollywood mein bhi kaam kiya, came back to TV and did such fab projects from 2018 onwards that he proved himself. But because he's not the typical filmy type, his colleagues continued to avoid him.
But he's understood he is by himself so he is actually picking up projects jahan voh akele hi USP hai, apne dumm pe TRP and views laata hai. Bina kisi madad ke ye sab karna is a huge accomplishment. And like I said, kuch na kuch hoga hi. Strong feeling hai mere andar ki ye banda sabse aage nikal jayega. Like you said last night you want Danny to be bigger than these awards...vohi hoga, dekh lena
