It is interesting (at least for me) that just in August this year Wankhede and 4 others of the NCB got the "medal for excellence in investigation" (the last numbers in the article)...one of them is the (un-)famous officer Ashish Ranjan Prasand who "grabbed" Aryan the first ... in the meantime he was interrogated rather extensively by the vigilance team (which may have lead to the "administrative order") :

As Nawab Malik wrote about "The Lalit" (hotel) which will play a role in his Sunday pressconference, I guess that it will now be about the "mysterious" Mr. Patil (who not only plays a crucious role in the Aryan Khan trapping but seems to be involved in other cases, too.

Mostly - if there is foul play - I think of money (politics doesn't interest me) and power plays... Wankhede & Co definitely were money-grabbing and high on power-play (and easily to corrupt and used).
