So in the most recent episodes when Sairat talk about friends, it struck me how sad it is that Sai has no real friends. I think its really important for her overall growth to live in a hostel, mix with her peers, cultivate some friendships. Often we have many friends but very few/no one who we can count on blindly. In Virats life he says he has had atleast 2 people - n now atleast Sunny. Technically he should count mohit n Samrat too coz they are more like friends than kust brothers. Sai on the other hand has had no one in her life except her aabaa - her all in one. UM n GC folks liked her, adored her but were never her confidantes or people she could actually count on. Since marriage she has looked at Virat as her all in one...like aabaa. The only person she could count on but sadly he has let her down too often.

That explains her attachment to aai, devi n a tad bit to pulkit. These are the only 3 people who have been truly consistent in standing by her- but they unfortunately dont command the same authority in CN. But atleast they are consistent. Shivani/mohit are often MIA so cant include them 🙈

But sadly none of them are really her "friends" . She can never share with them everything that she can with virat- sometimes even something like vocabulary or jokes- devi being a child mentally won't understand and aai being too old again cant understand. Pulkit is her teacher, her jeeju so theres a distance. I think in kD, pulkit character was special. Throughout the showhe was there on Sai's side as her anchor n mentor but sadly our pulkit is very lack luster. He hasnt really had the same impact in the show onscreen or in Sais life .Virat is ths only "peer age" ke aas-paas vaala person who despite being older than her is still kinda mentally on the same wavelength. When he is not in his hulk n gussa mode he really "gets" Sai like her aabaa did. but sadly he keeps letting people manipulate him or gets swept in his emotions so he is really not reliable...

But now that shes getting to be "friends" with virat n has found this happy space where they are hanging out, joking, doing things together, sharing..she will be very reluctant to lose that for "love" that she doesn't think is possible owing to the fact that Sai thinks Virat has already loved n "lost in love" .

Losing virats friendship is really scary for Sai because she will once again be left with no one.

Sai will have a special bond with virats family but at the end of the day- they are "Virats" family. So if her relationship with virat suffers another jolt, that will really shake her up. She can only take so much.

Ayesha really brings out such nuanced expressions recently. you can see her trepidation dedpite her easy banter with virat, her fear that being too blunt may get virat angry....so they laugh off many serious things these days-mainly Sai, though virat is doing so too...but Ayesha singh is really nailing these emotions. She looked so vulnerable when she talked about having no friends in the recent episode. 💔😢

I really wish this show focused a little more on Sai finding real friends, and her self discovery apart from this whole finding love aspect.

Sai joshi is the most interesting character for me.

Sadly, the friends she had in the form of Ajinkya or Aniket, were shood away by Virat himself...💔

The roommate she got after ousting, could have been a good confidante if she extended her stay.

The other friends showed in her birthday/ cafe incident/ hospital, those friendships were never explored.

For Sai, she is established to be a 'one person' person... First it was Aaba, now Virat... That's why it's difficult for her to take difficult decision of moving out, despite Virat's bad behaviour on days when SaiRat relationship hits rock bottom.

Actually, in ITV, it's like a norm, where FL will suffer for drama and have no friends to share her sorrows with.

That's what I find quite sad. Even in GC she didn't have real friends. Her world revolved only around her Aaba. I wish her Aaba made her open to the world instead of keeping her so close. The same thing is happening with Virat. Virat is becoming her entire world. She needs to meet people and make friends other than family members.

I relate to Sai in that i think its often a single child quality to be an ambivert. Sai is outgoing but actually she doesn't open up. Plus i think growing up in GC with jagtap as a harraser has led to Sai being kinda sheltered n not having any real friends. It sucks that she has no extended family either. Its really strange that she has no aunts/uncles, cousins etc.

Sai is drastically different in that sense from virat.

Even though Sai called virat as loner in the recent episode, i think in reality Sai is loner/independent types who has trouble opening up to people. And given the lack of people in ger life, its natural that she kinda gets a little super attached to the few people she is close to.

Virat displays his possessiveness but Sai doesn't know how to but its natural for her to actually be more possessive of people coz she's not used to sharing anything.

That's why it affects her SO much that her "husband" - the one person she must have subconsciously envisioned as being only "hers" has ended up being a guy with a past.

If there was any realism to this situation, the best thing Virat can do for Sai is to let her mingle with her peers, find people other than him to be friends in college n move out to live separately outside CN so that pp is away from the.
