Aarohi vs Akshara - why one has more substance than the other!
But the after reading all the comments, I have a question
Why is that ITV portrays that a person who is ambitious is definitely going to be rude to others.
Arohi if shown as an ambitious, short-tempered girl would have been enough.. but they are already trying to make her a almost vamp now itself by making her rude. She is shown as inconsiderate of others feelings.
Someone rightly pointed out that a character like Akshu is not really going to survive in this dog eat dog world... But in reality I have met characters like Akshu, the self-sacrificing, forgiving and all around do-good person. But I have also met Ambitious people and many many short tempered people, they have managed to be not rude. Why is it that the writers can not write these characters fairly.
By pairing ambitious nature with many bad qualities.. that too this frequently... discouraging people to be ambitious.
Of course.. I am not saying that ITV is having that big of a effect.. But these messages are more subtle... they affect in a subconscious level. Media have that kind of power. So anytime they her themselves being described as ambitious, subconsciously they get confused if it is a good thing or a bad thing.
For a long time, LGBTQ+ community faced these problems. The media made their existence into a comedy or something shameful. But after more proper representation the stigma diluted.
Same way the Ambitious people, atheists , short-tempered people etc should be fairly represented
What do you guys think?
