instead for now

pakistan seems to be fav

england will surely go semis

and afghanistan is the dark horse

also pacers r doing better than spinners it seems

even middle and lower order(bowlers) r getting more runs than top order in some matches 🤣

man this world cup is wild!

honestly I didn't give much of a chance to WI either, simple reason - they have too many old legs & considering how the pitches behaved in the IPL - I don't watch IPL matches but I do keep an eye out on the scores from time-to-time. WI are more like boundary hitters, they struggled in this tournament so far because the pitches don't suit their style of play.

I was betting mostly on these teams to make it to semis - once the groups were finalized:

Eng, NZ, Aus/BD (as it was UAE, thought BD had an outside chance bcoz of spinners), Ind/Pak (I was pretty sure only one would make it & my gut said, it was going to be Pak - for me India winning practice matches comfortably reminded me of the 2007 wc practice matches & the end result - call me superstitious but it is what it is 🤣)

Teams which have decent hitters down the order are always a threat - a reason why England is such a dangerous team, they have hitters until 9 or 10, this is the same team which was a joke until Morgan was a captain in white ball cricket.

Bittersweet moment would be England v New Zealand in finals again... again scores level, this time NZ winning, a sweet revenge & scores settled between Eng v NZ, after NZ were robbed of WC due to bizzare ICC rules in declaring victory in previous 50 over WC.

Technically, Pak had one more over as well - remember the earlier match SA v SL, when SA hit around 14 to win in final ove, Pak had nothing to lose - as they had still hitters left to come.

Yeah WI seems to be out of form, and most of their old players r out of form horribly, gayle is miserably struggling, no wonder why PBKS didn't play him in some matches. Tbh BD had a fair chance to go to semis if they won the matches vs SL n WI(they r soooooo bad at handling last over pressure💔, last wc they couldn't even chase 2 off 3 vs india with both batsmen on crease like seriously), I guess BD's luck is not favouring at all if not why would 3 players get ruled out due to injuries in between wc including shakib, and their fielding is a joke. Tbh I find Afg more deserving than Aus to go semis, Aus played miserably vs Eng and chased 119 with much difficulty vs SA, Afg dominated in 2 matches and lost a very close match. Aus is lucky they had weak teams in their group besides ENG. The team that disappointed me the most is India(sorry my Indian friends). Idk what will happen vs Afg, but i did not expect them to lose this badly vs NZ and PAK. Losing one match can be accident, but back to back matches. IND has world class players so I expected better. PAK i always knew they are amazing in T20I but i didn't expect them to do this well! Entire team doing great esp openers, shaheen and asif ali. I liked PAK, ENG and AFG performance the most so far. Special mention to NAM doing quite well given the fact its their debut t20wc. Teams that disappointed me the most are IND and BD. SA doing better than what I expected(cause of the controversies going on in their board)

One more predictably unpredictable match.

I think it is better to go onto the field as an under dog rather than a favorite in these matches.

Now India can't be called either dark horse or under dog.

They have to face the SM court for the poor performance until the dust settles down.

Cheers..
