First of all, I liked both movies. Shershah is more massy and tugs at your heartstrings, and it's a very sweet movie.
But Sardam Udhar ripped my heart apart. I can't get over that movie. That slow burn is so damn effective as a movie trope, and may not be liked by everyone, but it definitely worked for me. I was caught up in the intensity of the performances and the nuanced feel. Shoojit Sircar is a genius. I can't believe this is the same guy who made Vikcy Donor. Special word of praise for Vicky Kuahsal. He deserves all the awards this year.
I don't want to compare the 2 movies as they both very different. Shershah is for the heart, and Sardar Udam for the soul. Both movies deserve heaps of praise!
