Why Kalyani is so stupid?

At first her baba didn't have any faith on her when she sent Buxi away and now suddenly her baba is praising her non existent capabilities. Everyone knows they cannot win against Brits, not in direct confrontation, Buxi also retorted to jungles and used guerrilla warfare techniques against Brits. Kalyani is so much confident of her so called veerta that she is ready to make her army fight against a much superior army just because she is god damn stupid.
