I love the RR mansion and the way it has always been utilised. Every nook and crany was used unlike most shows where aangan and kitchen are most used places.
I am also petty about it and I'm glad the set will be torn down instead of being used as a house in any other show. I don't want to see our RR mansion as any one else's house on TV bas.

The angry young man trope was HUGE back in the day.
I was actually worried MHRW would be like that too but they gave enough nuances to R and they softened him up enough that it his anger didn't feel unjustified. He got the situation wrong several times and went above and beyond to torture P but he was soft with her too and helped her too. It was very different from ASR-K pairing. P gave back as good as she got and R actually changed and wanted to change.
His anger towards P in the first set of episodes were because of her and who she was not because he just hated all women (they tried this and immediately retconned it so I'm just going to say this was not the reason).
Whereas if I think of IPKKND, they never showed ASR really appreciating K for who she was. He just fell for her beauty and bubbliness but there was no admiration of her as a person. He didn't respect her in the way that R actually does respect, admire and look up to P. Add to that they kept letting ASR manhandle her and they never gave him a redemption track = not rewatchable at all. In hindsight it's very cringe.
+100 to this post Fria. I totally agree that MHRW gave enough nuances to Raghav that I can understand even when he stays a gadha. I love the way Raghav actually changed and he adores Pallavi for all the positive changes she bought in his life. Even today he says to Pallavi - You do everything perfect, it is okay if you fail in one single thing.
And shall I say the best thing I like about Raghav is him valuing consent. I love the way Raghav never forced himself on Pallavi and allowed her to dictate the pace of their relationship. Main thing I absolute adore in Raghav is when they come back after Mandar getting arrested and Raghav arranges the date night and they are so happy that they are together - Raghav wants to take the relationship forward but Pallavi falls asleep. Dang he comes near, sees her sleeping peacefully and just kisses her forehead and goes and sleep on his side of bed. No tantrum nothing even when he so wanted to move forward. In the age of Me Too - I absolutely loved that touch the creatives gave to Raghav.
I will happily go back and watch few episodes everyday till I am satisfied. MHRW definitely will be on my list for many years to come. The bar has been raised too high for me to love Indian TV shows.

Yeah Somehow I felt that Pallavi suggesting doing the sweets was Pallavi trying to trap Sunny and Esha in their planning and plotting. I think when Raghav tells her the truth then Pallavi might go away in anger but she might also go to make it look like Esha and Sunny are winning. Then she will be bang in to expose Esha and Sunny.

I'm not sure how many here have watched Geet but it was the original Gul show (angry young man and dukhiyari female) which was later literally copy pasted (in terms of a lot of things) in IPK.
Geet wasn't as popular because it was on star one while IPK was on star plus. Both shows were way too similar except for the background story of the leads. The treatment, the fall catch scenes all of them were literally the same.
I could never come to watch IPK after Geet because it was class apart but like Fria said Mhrw will remain timeless and will always have a recall value while I won't be able to watch Geet the same way I did a decade ago.
With Geet Gul left so many tracks open that MHRW looks like a classic compared to Geet. I seriously did not know if Geet was pregnant, whether she was still married to Maan's brother, Whether Maan's brother loved Geet or what not - The triangles the open plots were horrible. Compared to that MHRW does not have tracks left open like that.
I can't say how happy I am that the creatives have closed the loop of Raghav being Ramaswamy. Please disclose the truth of Pallavi being Amma's blood donor too and that Pallavi designed those jewellery designs.

omggggggg yesssssssssssss
Raghav's need and value of P's consent. UUFFFFFFF It's probably one of my most FAVORITE things about this show and their pairing. It is so important that we see a man who doesn't force his affection on the woman. I will always love this show for making that a central part of their relationship.

I absolutely love MHRW for lot of things
- For casting local actors who look the part
I can't tell you how much I dig authentic casting and how very sensitive I am about it. I know it can be tricky but if someone does that it means they're willing to go that extra mile and actually know why it makes a difference. Regardless of everything, I respect SS for doing this.
- For casting the D family so perfect in the first episodes and getting the Maharastrian look on dot
- For Raghav still using beautiful telugu dialogues in between and not losing the feel of a Hyderabadi person. Believe me the way hyderabadis speak Hindi is little different
Oh yes, Hyderabadi Hindi is very different and it's one of my favorites. I legit couldn't believe it when Raghav went on to throw in Telugu dialogues in between and speak Hyderabadi Hindi with a SI accent. Man, Sai killed it here.
- For having the beautiful RR Mansion and the beautiful scenes that this PH shot using mirror as reflection
RR mansion >>>> all the ITV indoor locations combined. You don't always need pools to create a classy look *cough* GK *cough*
- For giving enough takkar to the FL and ML in the beginning episodes that I was rooting for Raghav and Pallavi by turns. During Lion track my sympathy was with Raghav and then dang I hated him during the defamation track.
THIS. I LOVED how I couldn't root for just one. One moment I would want to smack Raghav in the head or frown at Pallavi and at another I would want to hug them and cry for them.
- For making the forcible marriage at least reasonable and not cringy like in most shows where the ML has misunderstanding and goes on rampage by marrying the FL - How it suits the purpose is beyond me.
OH SHARADA THIS THIS THIS. IMO, RaghVi had the most sensible forced marriage compared to all the others I've seen so far (and I've seen plenty). Not saying forced marriages are any good but ITV hain toh chalta hain. I was so upset for my girl Pallavi who had lost everything due to Raghav's defamation but at the same time I could see why Raghav would want to marry this person he hated with all his guts.
- For giving strong MILs who root for the daughter-in-law more than the son
Both with Amma and Aai. Oh how I wish they hadn't butchered Aai during the Mandar track.
- For the beautiful redemption of Raghav in Hyderabad track
Again, BEST. EVER. ITV never gets redemption right but the writers did a fantastic job here.
- For the understanding and heartfelt conversations of Raghav and Pallavi
❤️
And I miss these conversations so much uff.
- For staying true to the characters for most part of the show - including Raghav's Ostrich tendency of burying his head in the sand and Pallavi being so pure and generous.
^^ Yes. For not giving the character a 180 degree makeover overnight because they fell in louu and magic happened and hippos started flying. I loved supporting/defending Pallavi or Raghav's actions through thick and thin because it allowed me to delve deeper into their characters, their feelings and thought processes--I loved putting myself in their shoes to see why certain things make sense when you're them.
I can safely say MHRW will be my favorite show for a very long time.
+10000000000 this.
Sharada, you'll make me cry now.

I totally agree here Fria. I've been discussing with Soni why we loved MHRW way more than we ever did geet (which was easily comparable to Geet) and noted a few reasons:
1. Raghav's backstory - the fact that his anger was not unjustified. The backstory made him so much human. They didn't make it a sob story, they rather made it a story of how flawed he was and how he tried and repented. He was never able to let go off the guilt despite earning forgiveness from Amma.
2. Pallavi wasn't a bechari - she literally beat Raghav in all his challenges and using the right away. She was way too sharp and perceptive. She never gave up and that's what we loved about her.
3. No fall trip chemistry - most romance shows follow the age old formulae of a eyelock and fall catch etc. While we had these scenes in mhrw but they were far and in between. Their chemistry was just in the way they looked at each other in a room filled with people and not just when they touched or looked at each other.
4. Balance in a relationship - this was one of the most important reasons of why we felt Raghvi so deeply was because they were both equals. In most shows the man is seen to be more important and the woman more subservient. In Mhrw it was a healthy balance. Both indulged in each other, Raghav would simp over Pallavi and she would also baby him. I don't think I've seen such a balanced relationship on tv before.
5. Raghav's redemption and consent like Sharada explained. Despite being an alpha, he valued her consent and waited for her to accept him. He respected her always and you can see it when he says so proudly to Amma during the photoshoot that Pallavi accepted him. He changed for her because she was the light he wanted in his dark life. They both made each other better and stronger. They complemented each other. I loved that Raghvi were flawed and lonely and how they got happiness in the other.
Sorry it turned out way bigger than I wanted. I can keep going.
