Diff between SRK and the rest is he can actually act. You can take a look at Hey Ram for ex. Or Swades and Chak De. That he chooses terrible roles for possible box office success is a diff matter.

SRK is like Deepika and Kareena, one odd decent performance and they are hailed as good actors

But no. His talent does come through in the odd good role he chooses. And yeah... guess who acknowledged it? No one less than Nawazuddin Siddiqui. I think we can safely take Nawaz's word for who can act and who cannot. 😎

Fantastic In intense roles, fantastic in suave roles, has inherent style without trying too much, top class dancer, obviously a looker

A glaring weak point is his inability to get accents right (Bihari is Hindi is Punjabi is catholic goan hindi…can’t tell the difference )

Has potential to do well in his weak point (comedy) if directed by specific directors (except he absolutely cannot pull off slapstick)

He is good in serious, dramatic, author-backed roles (especially period pieces). Much like Ash, keep him away from comedy/lighthearted roles and he's good.

The only exception is KNPH -- he was extremely charismatic as both Raj and Rahul, and played that role with ease. There were lots of fun/bubbly acting involved there too, and he managed to do that well. Aside from it, he's pretty rubbish at light roles.

I only liked him in KNPH and Jodha Akbar. Akbar is his career best performance, I’ll give him 9/10 for that one. :)

I didn’t find his other performances memorable, aside from maybe Lakshya.

Nawaz acknowledged Aamir's talent as an actor.Kay Kay Menon,Fahaad,Dhanush too.These are some Aamir has never met.Dilip Kumar rated him highly.Surely we can take their word.

He is a hit and miss actor like most of his peers. He does well in action and drama, horrible in comedy and emotional scenes.

Aamir has his moments.

Earth was good, and I liked him a lot in Talaash. The rest you mentioned were entertaining, and he doesn't ham and make it clear he thinks the roles are silly, which is extremely professional of him. But they didn't involve any great acting.

Thing is he *is* hailed as a great actor based on these.

When it comes to SRK, very few people actually laud him for the acting. And when JS commented they do, I responded that SRK can actually act though he seems to choose not to. And yeah, Nawaz and Kamal Hassan have commented on SRK's acting capabilities.

TBH, mainstream BW has very few *great* actors. If you want to see actual great acting, watch Fahad Faasil or Mohanlal. Or Uttam Kumar (old Bengali actor) in the Satyajit Rai film (I don't remember the name). There are some Marathi actors I don't remember the name of, too.
