OT: It’s an industry where drugs, alcohol etc is quite normalized, so the upbringing is not going to matter much. It totally depends on the individual what path they want to take…

Well actually I disagree..upbringing matters a lot.

There are few factors that affect kids during growing up years.. atmosphere they see at home, time spent with parents, peer group are few of that.

Most important is the quality of time spent with parents..coz if ur family has good values and u learn from that u r set. Even if peers r wrong u can discuss with parents and they r in the know.

Don't see such a thing happening with Aaradhya or Madhuri's kids..both moms r known to spend a lot of time with their children and take care of their needs. Abhishek also seems to be a decent guy and so is Madhuri's husband...and though not in the limelight both look like hands on dads

Loneliness is what affects these star kids. Aryan has said he sometimes needed to take n appointment to meet his dad

You'd think that most of the people were already well aware of the fact that bollywood celebrities attend parties, drink, smoke, etc. Do they think that this all a recent development and that NCB and the government were not aware of the inner workings of bollywood parties? Do they even stop for a second to pause and think?

There obviously seems to be plenty of people on this forum who were and still are super scandalized about drugs, like they'd never heard of it before. It's weird in the face of all those holi songs with bhang and rang barse songs that are played so often and in a positive light to set a festive mood. Where does their upbringing go then? 😆 It's one thing to speak against social problems like the drug epidemic but a whole different thing to pick on one or two scapegoats to crucify and pretend that they're about to nail an entire drug cartel.

I think lack of knowledge and being completely out of touch with reality is a bigger problem than a celebrity not living up to unrealistic expectations of exemplifying perfection .....so that people around them can hold these celebrities upright as paragons of virtues. Someone yesterday quoted me to tell me that celebrities owe it to the audience to exemplify perfection cuz they're super influential. Before I could answer, the thread was locked. What can anyone say to these people who want to crucify celebrities for not living up to their expectations?

Just one question..if all these things r so normal and so common in bollywood parties why did Bollywood feel the need to make a movie like Udta Punjab? And why did the industry hail it as some landmark masterpiece?

Just to add..Sanju.

Why did the film show drugs ruining Sanju's life and taking away his love from his life? Why was he shown suffering and desperate to get out of the addiction..his father making so many efforts to get his life back on track?

If drugs r really such a harmless recreation and aren't habit forming then r these two movies fiction? Sanju at least was called a biopic

don't know and I don't wanna talk about upbringing. Their kids, their blood, their paise.

May be parents will teach their kids to clean up mobile phone data every hour🤣

Bollywood kids are always on the move, they go to schools abroad and socialize and attend parties/events all over the world with all kinds of people in the mix. They will never have the same "upbringing" like that of a person in an average household in India or the Indian subcontinent simply owing to the fact that your life experiences define you.

Your experiences have a huge hand in shaping you and if their parents are always in the limelight on top of it, their lives are and never will be the same as an average guy's. There's nothing wrong with that as long as they're not committing crimes or hurting others. Social media, movies, interviews, etc. are their ways of bridging that gap but expecting them to walk your own personal path of righteousness in life is both unrealistic and naive.

What about hurting themselves? Citing n example of Sanju..the guy lost his prime years coz of drugs..it's only in the last decade that his life is kind of sorted.

And these star kids and young actors sometimes write 'influencer' in their insta bio and r followed by many other young kids. Well that's another topic to discuss.

But then what's the solution? Legalise it like tobacco and alcohol and impose heavy taxes?

Lawmakers should be like...Aap chaahe apni zindagi barbaad karo aapki marzi..it's not our responsibility to take care of ur health..jo chaaho Khao peeyo aur maze karo..if u can afford just enjoy
