Why do the characters in soaps address their parents with first name followed by ma/papa?

How many mas and papas do they have?

Because the Papa had Mandira Ma Meera Ma and many other Mas too in his harem. When Mandira got bored the other one stepped in . Tulsi Ma died and came back as a tiny mousy woman until XL Tulsi returned for a Tulsi vs Tulsi . So you see...it must have been hard for the others to keep up 🤣. I'm surprised they didn't go for dog tags

Aray coz Bacha and parents exchange/donation/kidnapping etc were very common in the K duniya.

Toh EOD almost every kid in the K universe atleast had a set of biological parents, then parents who brought you up, then step parents due to any remarriage etc, then najayaz/illegitimate parents (due to any EMA). Kafi permutations n combinations thi 😆

Yes, when the sister/sister-in-law/any random family member suffered from a miscarriage or couldn't have a child due to xyz reasons, the mahaan lead heroine would give away one of her child to the said family member. Thus 'donations'.
