This is my first time posting anything here, so I hope this will go down well. Also, I’m not following the show, so I hope you guys will ignore any glaring errors. 😳
This is an AU (one-shot) that differs slightly from canon. There are no trigger warnings as such but it does have a fair amount of angst.

Brief character sketch and background
The Pandya family has been rendered penniless due to them losing the store years ago. Gautam then gets a job as accountant with a high- profile politician in Somnath, Niranjan Doshi. Raavi is Doshi’s daughter.
Shiva and Raavi know each other as kids and have been frenemies. Shiva thinks Raavi is a brat, while she thinks he's an arrogant jerk.
Shiva drops out after Std.12, doing odd jobs to support his family income so his brothers can go to college.
He's a rough and angry young man, ready to use his fists to solve any dispute. He also has a deep-rooted inferiority complex and self-esteem issues. He’s incredibly devoted and loyal to his family and will do anything for them, especially Dhara Bhabhi.
Raavi goes off to college to Baroda and later flies to the US to do her Masters in Medieval history. They haven't seen each other in years. Raavi's visiting from the US for the holidays, when she becomes the victim of a kidnapping attempt. Shiva who has been working as a mechanic at a highway truck stop, tracks her down, and frees her. This impresses Raavi’s dad who hires Shiva as her personal bodyguard.
Raavi’s father is an authoritarian and Raavi is completely under his thumb. She hates the control he has over her, and keeps rebelling in small ways, but knows deep down that her father will always have his way.
