Serials end up in clichs

Desperation drives TV channels to resort to clichd formulas, that have earned TRPs in the past. The new serial, Babul Ka Aangan Chootey Na, is following the same pattern, which incidentally began with the serial Kkusum. The plot is basic: A middle class girl gets lucky, marries the rich son of an industrialist and while everyone wonders how the families have accepted the ordinary looking girl so easily, there is an ulterior motive. The man, is going to face rough times and may even lose his life, so as per astrological advise, he marries a middle-class girl to ward off the evil effects. In Saath-Pheren, Saloni's husband had been married before but this fact was concealed from his new wife. In Babul Ka Aangan, Aastha, the middle class girl married into a wealthy home, is part of a mysterious family secret, one that concerns her husband, who conveniently disappears at midnight. Everyone in the family is aware of the secret with the exception of Aastha.

If such build-ups would actually lead to an exciting revelation, one that takes the story forward, it would make sense, but often, what emerges at the end of this great mystery, turns out to be a damp squib, with some silly secret that need't have been hidden in the first place.

On the other hand, there are some serials which have seriously lost their plot and it sure looks like the writers have taken leave off their senses. Kuch Is Tarah, which began reasonably well enough, is now focusing on a constantly squabbling lead couple, who apparently are in love with each other but will not admit to the same. While the initial fights between Akashdeep Sehgal and Dimple's character seemed a lot of fun initially, now they are becoming boring and repetitive and it sure looks like the director doesn't know how to take the plot further. When a serial is losing focus, it's better to give it a firm ending before the script turns completely meaningless. Unfortunately, none of the TV producers seem to know when to let go and end a show with dignity.

^ This makes me so sad!! Because as much as I hate to admit it but the show has lost its spark. Before I had many reasons to watch the show now it's only Akashdeep. At this rate I wonder how long this show will last. As it is not a saas bahu drama there are only so many things Ranbir and kanya can fight about, after that it's a drag.

Yes its the number 1 show in sony. But look at the other sucky shows it had to be number one. Even this forum has been dead lately. It's the same discussions (on same topic different wording) or thousand of ffs.

😭 I am so sad

What???? Kuch is tara is not boring. Its the most different show on tv. I feel the focus on Ranbir/Kanya is probably the best part of the show. I don't agree with it. And the plot moving just fine Rannu knows he in love, and now its Kanya's turn Yes, its get a bit slow...but I find the Kuchh is tara part of the article hard to digest.

Yeah it true, the show has lost its spark, a bit. But is moving in a good direction. I mean you have to take eveything into account, the acting (Akashdeep), the comedy, the dialogue. Its superior to other shows. And all shows slow down, and then go on a high. But I mean I am emotionally connected to kit (Rannu) so that why I don;t like this article grrrrrrrrrrr.

COME ON! NOW!
its just a stupid critic who rote that, over here, someone rote a review on her feelings of Jodha Akbar she got bashed up(i mean, publicly ponted by readers in the newspapers).
Reviewers need to give a general idea, not how they feel of the program or movie, then it becomes personal!!! 😡
the directors no well enough, thats why they keep getting in twists, and they havent played their final card yet!
Natasha (why happend to the sister theory??)

i don't agree with his article...KIT is goign so good yes i admit that the spark which had before is slops littble bit but still its going so good because Akashdeep and Dimple chemistry.....the reporter should wash their eyes and watch KSBKBT...KGGK to see repeative stuff for years god knows how many times i have seen amnesia track on ksbkbt...how many times karan-nandani have seperated and how many times mandira needs to make a entry....how many times rapes scenes...ONS...illegimate childrens taking revenges

in Kggk...how many times om needs to drown in the water....how many times will they show rape scenes...how many times all the vamps needs to make a entry...amnesia track...illegitimate children taking revenges
the reporters must see this boring shows rather than KIT at least it far apart from this kraps which go on for years non-stop or might as well take a look at the biggest mess kasamh se which is younger to this 2 serials but looking at the track its excatly the same league....

KIT is so different with all elements in the serial comedy...emotions...romance...thriller....one of the best from kekta camp after kutumb...kohi apna sa....hum paanch

though its going slow now still KIT is the best serial to watch

right now the best to watch is kumkum...banoo mein teri dulhan...kis desh mein hai mera dil....kuch is tara and kasturi

I don't know! I love the show. But I do know a lot of viewers who stopped after the whole Chunnu drama. I don't mind problems between Rankan or a 2nd man to make Rannu jealous. But the way they handled Chunnu was very irritating. It wasn't exciting at all it was just annoying. I know a couple of people in this forum who stopped, a bunch of people on my facebook KIT group did the same. At this point the show is depending on Akashdeep and that's it.That's a dangerous ground as Kanya is the main protagonist. I hope they start on a new exciting path soon.
