How is the Shah's reputation at stake?

I am just maybe totally ignorant or maybe I missed the episode where they explained it, but how is Anupama's affair going to affect Shah's reputation?

She is not their daughter-in-law, but mooh-boli-beti. Even though bapuji is the only one who thinks that.

Vanraj's affair and then marriage itself should have been the worst. He had an affair when he was married. Anupama is not married now. so how is it more degrading than Vanraj's deed.

And even if she does have an affair now and a woman is not allowed to love according to 'society' then wouldn't her actual family be more humiliated than Shahs?

'Samaaj mein izzat' is the easiest excuse people use to control others. It doesn't make much sense.. But that's all it is.
