Honestly and I know people are not going to like this but what if the pregnancy is real why should the story end? Either way Didi needs to rot in jail or a mental institution. I do not think there was any deep rooted thought process to that hug. But I liked what you wrote...

I believe it was more so to feel close to the person you love but in line with an emotion of whenever you are feeling sad, and things are going bad and your usual happy smile has slipped out of sight, a hug is probably what will set it right!

He is not ready to punish the child for the mother and he didn’t say he was happy.. he said he can’t even show excitement for the baby cos of how it was conceived and Adilie relationship has never really been physical, their connect has been emotional , mentally and spiritually so this suddenly needing her to touch him to prove she considers him her husband is out of the character for me: sorry
