If they do circulate right information, they get charged for sedition. Few months back SC squashed petition for sedition of a well known journalist, that was filed by politician for criticising the government.

The lesser known ones, get jailed for a long time.

Getting the law itself to do the dirty work has become a trend recently. People will slowing loose faith in the judiciary as well.

Not too long ago, a senior journalist was shot in Bangalore. There was an account on Twitter that tweeted, ek aur kutiya gayi something like that.. you won’t believe, that account was followed by PM itself..
