Baa is the worst and here's why - A long thread

I've been saying Baa is the worst for a long time now but for some reason, this woman gets whitewashed after misbehaving for 10-15 episodes. Finally her hypocrisy has come full circle because of her distaste of Anuj Kapadia.

Baa has been regressive since the very beginning. Here's how:

1) Baa was a bitch to Anupamaa for 25 years and expected her to be an ideal wife who never questions her husband. However, Baa has never done this with her own husband and constantly questions every decision he makes, especially if his decision does not favour her son.

2) Baa constantly tried to get Anupamaa back together with Vanraj even after the family found out about his affair. The man was living with his girlfriend, had a fight and an accident and then moved back home only to have Baa constantly tell Anupamaa to give him massages and treatment.

Kinjal even questions Baa at the time asking how she can ask Anu to serve Vanraj despite knowing everything, but she simply talks about how Kinjal doesn't have any respect.

3) Kavya moves into the Shah house after Vanraj's accident despite her having had an affair with him for 9 years. Yes Baa constantly taunts her, but the woman still lets her live in her house hurting Anupamaa, proving that she will do anything for her son's happiness, even if it means screwing over her so-called daughter Anupamaa.

4) When Vanraj's affair comes to light, Baa is ashamed and slaps her son. However, this is literally all she does to him. After this, Baa constantly berates Kavya accusing her of manipulating her son, taking her son away and god knows what else. The point is, Baa is a toxic Indian mom who blames his son's extra marital girlfriend for a sin he himself has commited.

5) Baa is totally against the divorce and constantly tries to patch things up between Anupamaa and Vanraj, including the time she sends them on a trip out of town alone. That was honestly just bullshit. Pakhi doing all of that makes sense, she doesn't want her parents to be seperated and doesn't understand the struggle since she's a child. But baa is an adult, who is whitewashed for this bullshit as well.

6) Anupamaa falls ill and Baa decides to become the ultimate mom. However, as soon as she finds out about Nandini's pre existing "can't get pregnant" drama, she immediately lashes out at Anupamaa and berates her in front of the family. Keep in mind, that Anupamaa was still ill and could've had very little time left.

7) Baa constantly berates Kavya after she marries Vanraj. It seems that 25 years of making her mistakes with Anupamaa, Baa still has no remorse since she decides to continue the same pattern with her new 'bahu'.

She hates Kavya because she married her son. She constantly finds faults in Kavya and compares her to Anupamaa, who she emotionally abused for 25 years. However, none of this angst is ever directed towards Vanraj.

How can you be mad Kavya for marrying Vanraj but not at Vanraj for marrying Kavya? Matlab kuch toh sense rakho?

8) Baa is extremely hurtful and only needs one poke to turn into the evil incarnate that she currently is. She was all fine with Anupamaa for all this time, but as soon as things don't go her way for one second she tries to hurt and berate her ex DIL.

She asks Kavya to serve food to her at the table instead of Anu, knowing that this will hurt Anupamaa, only because she decides to accept Anuj's partnership. But it was more than that, she does it to manipulate anupamaa and guilt her into leaving the position which is literally evil.

Baa deserves to see her son fall into the great depths of hell along with his idiotic wife. Hope this show stops whitewashing this annoying character ever 20 episodes. Screw you Baa, hope your jhoola breaks.

What you said is totally correct.

It is hight time we need to officially agree that Baa is the "villain" and most negative character of the show.

Her sweet behaviour for4-5 episodes can't justify all her bad actions and words.

Even Vanraj is this bad because of Baa.

Because Baa always disrespected Anupama, and did everything in Vanraj's favour ,never pointed out his mistakes and wrong deeds. Baa is responsible for Vanraj's toxic male ego. She always overshadowed Bapuji and saved Vanraj from being called out.

Jokes aside good analysis the mother who just love his spoil brat dum egoistic son who is good for nothing he is good son because baa is also like this warna dekha deta unhe bhi how good son he is

I term this the “Raja-Beta” syndrome.. you can see it in many Indian serials where the moms are blind to their son’s fault and keep manipulating the women around to suit the son’s aspirations. They really are the main enablers and will almost always get away - kyunki bade hein 🙄

Yes totally on point thread! You already covered all - I hate most about Baa is they whitewash her in every few episodes.

Then villain is changed to either Rakhi or Toshu. If no one else then Pakhi. Vanya and Baa are pretty much team.

Even in Rakhi's episode I am sure the focus was totally on gathering sympathy - bichari baa. Like they do with Vanraj once in a while.

The way she gets cleaned cheat without apologizing once annoys me. Anu is no less, on rare occasion when Baa starts admitting her mistake - Anu would go all - 'nahi baa aisa nahi he' nonsense

Baa is the kinda character who only oppress the weaker person, so she doesn't go against Toshu and Rakhi a lot. She tries but let them be.

Only if Any would stop worshipping her and Baa would have no choice but change her behavior. I have stopped sympathizing with Anu - when she cries in front Baa. I mean even toddler, and animals understand by instinct what is going on. From whom what should they expect.

Baa is not going to change till she doesn't have it back.
