Sunday is a court holiday and courts do not work on Sundays.
However, urgent matters such as production of the accused and seized articles can be done on that day. If bail is moved at the time of production of the accused it may be heard and disposed of at that time.
A criminal case may be posted and heard on a Sunday on the consent of both sides, which is very rare.
Sessions Judges courts, High Courts and the Supreme Court do not work on Sundays, but having regard to the exigencies of the situation, may take up a specific matter on a Sunday.
