Saif plays the quintessential crook

Saif Ali Khan had declared, right after doing Being Cyrus with Homi Adajania, that he would act in Adajania's film again and again. Well, their next film together is now all set to go. We will see Saif as and in Thagi, Adajania's next, a fully masala film.

Thagi is about an action film about a crook who goes on a conning spree. So far, Saif had kept this venture of his under wraps because he wanted to get the script and the rest of the cast in place first - and the best of cast at that. Casting for the heroine is still in process.

The film is produced by Saif's production house Illuminati Films. Says our source, "Saif chose Adajania as his director because he feels their sensibilities match and work wonders together on screen."

When contacted Homi Adajania confirmed the news and said, "Yes, I am in talks with Saif about Thagi. And I'm really excited about this project as it break away completely from what I've done in the past. It's an out-and-out commercial film, with all the masala thrown in. I can't disclose any more details at this point."

The script of the film has been written by Ankur Tiwari. Adajania loved the script and jumped at the chance of being able to make the film. The film will have four more actors and a leading lady, who are yet in the process of being finalised. This will happen as soon as Saif is back in town.
