I have been watching the show since it started, and I feel like the latest episode is like the intermission portion (the series won’t be more than 18-20 episodes - 22 at a stretch).

While I actually quite like Usman Mukhtar, the characterisation of Aswad is what lets him down. Aswad is an unfeeling man, and his stoic behaviour will be his downfall. Instead of crying like everyone else, it’s as though he feels he has no right to cry - so he’ll stay angry. And unfortunately his anger will be predicated at Mehreen. He’s only going to realise that she’s not at fault when he loses her. This is where I feel like Usman will shine because we’re only going to see how Aswad mistreats Mehreen once she’s acquitted.

Speaking of Mehreen, that girl will never catch a break. Safwan needs to take her away from this country so she can actually breathe. I’m already theorising that the end of the series will have Mehreen divorcing Aswad and marrying Safwan because she finally feels like she can be happy, and that she deserves happiness.

The show is getting more intense and I freaking love it. Sucks that the novel is only published in Urdu because I would have loved to compare the two mediums.

After a very long time I started watching a pak drama, and this dramas is turning out to be such a disappointment. The last episode was supposed to be the most important episode of the drama, but so badly they botched it up. It was a total cringe fest and so over the top. Pak dramas r liked for the subtlety and realistic approach, but this episode gave such a ekta Kapoor soap vibe.

Also everyone of the characters in the last episode came across as irritating, barring Shabo. And then to top it off the filmy cop. 🤦‍♀️

I think the last episode clearly showed why this is a terribly written show. I would say that the direction saved it to an extent. The only character we have that's somewhat fleshed out is Mehreen's and even her character leaves a lot of room for interpretation by the viewer because of the lack of proper backstory or build-up. Mehreen being an unreliable narrator whose judgements are clouded towards the two other main characters doesn't give us a good outlook towards the future of the story.

Mashal's suicide would make more sense if we were to know how lonely she felt growing up. Two flashbacks of comparisons aren't enough to allow it to seep into the viewers and audience why she had been alone and how despite being spoiled and given the majority of the things she wants, she's craved for her mother's approval which mehreen somehow ends up getting despite being hated by everyone around her including her father. Tahir's mehreen needs to die as well made no sense in light of how little we know of his relationship with mehreen and his sister.

Aswad is literally a fill-in for male validation at this point. The show relies on stereotypes in the worst possible context.

I would say that the saving grace since day one has been the cast and the director. nothing else. usman mukhthar wasn;t this bad in saabat and anaa so really it's about what he's got to work with which is mostly nothing.

I am in love with the direction of mehreen's character though. it's poetry in motion! Rind's vision is stellar with the garbage he's working with.

I haven't seen a single episode of this drama. From the promos, teasers and OST, it looks really crap. I don't get why people are raving about it, it looks like your typical Pakistani drama. Is the hype because Mahira Khan's back on TV or is it really that good?

i think its because of the cast. It's a great cast. It's one of those shows that gets lucky with its reception.

Ok here is my view..

I think the epi was good. It could have been better executed but I guess they purposely cut all the gory scenes of dead body and funeral. Plus , the events of this night will unfold slowly . A lot happened ..they showed only 1 scene in this epi..that mashal and aswad had a chat where he told her it's over. He had so many missed calls from mashal. Nothing was shown here . What actually happened will be shown later..or probably in the last epi..

Saleha baji is so thick 😆 From the surface , mashal died bec saleha rejected her proposal. But she didn't feel an ounce of guilt 😆 ulta she tells her son "rishte toh mana ho jaate hain , jinki galti nahi hai unko toh Saza na de". Ye lo ab . she may have felt that way but she didn't do anything for mehreen. Nobody did😡

Mehreen is clueless why is she being held responsible . This night is a mystery . Who knows shabbo was asked to poison mehreen n mashal died accidently?

We know mehreen will be acquitted bec she is shown marrying aswad in the ost. Toh postmortem etc is a sham. They won't have anything against mehreen but mehreen at least needs a lawyer. Let's see.

Performance wise.. mahira aced it..usman was also good..supporting characters were all good. I missed kubra..her acting was stupendous .

Reg cousin rivalry ..this wasnt a simple cousin rivalry .they were Cousins who were forced to live with each other when they can't stand each other , when they r so vindictive since childhood...also this show highlights mental health issues ...here they were in extreme. Jealousy and hatred to a point where a girl dies just so that her cousin is blamed and she never has a moment of peace , it's really the limits... yeah they didn't show much in detail but there were plenty of pointers which tell us the state of mind of all characters.. how mashal treats mehreen..how mehreen feels since childhood. It's pretty self explanatory ..
