Watched today's episode on Zee5.. Sid asked Mithai if she too thinks Dadai has left home coz he couldn't accept this marriage to which Mithai said YES 🤐

Sid's reply was - You should have told me this before.. I'll keep aside my beliefs n accept this marriage FOR DADAI 🤐

The episode ended here.. But er poreo jodi Mithai accepts, tahole r kichui bolar thakena 🤐

@bold: sometimes I really feel if Sid is an adult or not. Does he know what all a marriage entails? IS he going to sleep with mithai and have kids with her just becoz Dadai said??

PS. I am not saying marriage is only that. But in this context, it is what the family wants!

I don't think I will get time to catch up with the show before this Gandhi jayanti weekend. But reading all these updates, makes me feel not at all bad about it.

People actually do such things in real life too .. Forced to marry someone they don't want to, have kids for family's sake, n spent unhappy married life for the kid's sake or gets divorced when things get real complicated.. And if they get divorce, they gets the blame coz apparently they couldn't work things out (mostly women are blamed in real life but here Sid is getting the blame coz he doesn't believe in marriage)..

I agree that this is an unfortunate reality of many Indian marriages. But I cannot see the goal of the writers here... What are they trying to show with Sid's character?

We all know love is not a problem, as Sid's actions scream loudly that he loves mithai very much, whether he agrees or not. The issue in their marriage is fear of commitment due to what happened with his mother. Sid's fear is born out of his childhood trauma. And the family by pressurizing him with emotional blackmail is adding on to the trauma, which cannot be a resolution ever. Yes we all know he will have a happy life with mithai, but it would be more interesting if they dealt with his trauma in a mature way rather than this dadai's sonsar tyag track.
