There is an episode where Manu-Malhar and Meera-Adiraj meetup at the clinic.
Adiraj tries to discuss what their options are going forward but Meera railroads the entire conversation and makes it about her pro-life opinion. She adds a whole Woman vs Man angle to it too when there was no need for it because no one had said anything unreasonable. Adiraj even patiently tries to tell her that he’s a gynaecologist (a qualified bloomin’ professional) and so it’s his responsibility to, without any judgment, inform Manu of all her options and get Manu-Malhar to think about what they both want. To which Meera makes some nonsensical argument about having to live with consequences and the effects of termination on women. That’s when I had had enough!
I’m pretty sure having a child, going through labour, the aftereffects and recovery is going to have a greater impact on Manu - physcially and emotionally. I remember in an earlier episode Nikhil mentions termination which angers Meera. She does say however that despite not agreeing with it, it’s entirely Manu-Malhar’s decision. However, most of the scene at the clinic seemed to be dedicated to her view.
And of course, without any conflict Manu-Malhar get a couple of mins to basically say they’re going ahead with the pregnancy.
Just to be clear, I don’t have a problem with Meera being pro-life – she has a right to her view, but her arguments didn’t make sense at all and her insistence that there should be no discussion on matter at all, irritated me.
