Can't remember what I said but Sony extends contracts to Idol singers of its choice. These are usually exclusive contracts, meaning that for the period of the contract (usually 2 years) Sony's Studio Next has a say on anything that these singers do for payment.
Sony extended this contract to top10 contestants this year. 9 are exclusive contracts. Nihal's is a non-exclusive contract as he already was under a prior contract. I feel (no proof) that this contract excludes Nihal working for Sony shows in certain markets in the south. That's about all. Aru-PD is very much a prime contracted Studio Next property and are a source of income for Sony because they get cuts on every performance.

On a more humorous note, this is not completely an incorrect place. After all the shadhi you talked about involved a lot of dancing by them! 🤣

I actually meant balh2, saw arudeep there and my dad was like acha ab ye karwa rahe hai. Whatever helps them make money I guess.

Btw why nihal can't sing in South, and I think sayli will/might sing in some marathi shows too if channel wants?

Nihal will sing in the south, that is home territory for him.

I just said he may be contracted to a different agency, not Sony's Studio Next for programs in the south.

I drew that conclusion from the 2 exclusions of Nihal from Hyderabad shows which had the other 5. That is all. I found it strange that he does not feature. The only thing different for him is his dual contract.

I know Zee does. It has a business called Zee Talent.
Basically they promote talent and both parties make money. I know that Sony is providing Singer Management Services as well. Also, it provides talent the opportunity to take part in channel programs in preference to others. The BALH 2 deal is an example, as is KBC and Kapil Sharma show for the idols. Most money for Sony talent is made from international shows which Sony promotes. Some Idols will visit UK, USA, Canada, Israel, South Africa in the next 6 months. Plus they do a lot of local shows.
