We came to know, after talking, Jack stays literally 5 minutes away from my Dada Dadi’s house back in India. Jack’s father, used to work with my Daadaji (paternal grandfather). Also, Jack’s tauji (elder paternal uncle), Jack’s dad, and my dad studied in the same school and used to take the same school bus. Jack’s tauji and my father were in the same class upto middle school.

Are congratulations in order?

I believe yeh sab kismat ki baatein hoti hai. Even love marriages break and arranged marriages are strong. It's all destiny.

Not at the moment. Unfortunately things didn’t work out with this guy.

@bold I completely agree.

They usually are .

You're looked down if you didn't pursue Engineering/ MBBS and maybe CA . 😆😆

I did my UG in commerce and I was the only one amongst my friends and family to do that

I was embarassed to say I was studying commerce lol .. my parents were worried I wouldn't get good matches if I didnt take engineering 🤣. That happened too . I was rejected twice because they wanted an engineer bahu lmao

Some don't care whether you work after marriage or not bas ladki doctor yah engineer honi chahiye . Same with men . If they aren't engineer / doctor

or CA it's tough to get rishtas 🤣

Ok.. there is this one, where no kidding the story is very very similar to SaiShi. I met this guy at my internship, and we barely spoke to each other initially (mostly because of me, as I’m an introvert). My internship was 4 months long, and we had become friends by the end of it. Kept in touch for 1.5 years, but were unable to meet due to pandemic. I joined the company back last year as full time, and this guy came to help me to move. My mum was here at that time, and met him. She’s grown extremely fond of him, and idk, we’ve become much closer after that. We are still in the middle, trying to figure whether we are just great friends or something more is brewing between us.

but, that is the case in India in general right? Like my mom is sort of against getting married in a business family. She wants someone who is in a “proper” profession 🤣🤣

Hehe .. Could be !

But Engineering is very common in southern states , especially Telugu states . Most engineers you find abroad are from Telugu states lol .

My parents are ok with business families only if they are super wealthy lol . Otherwise a stable job js a must 😆
