Prenup is justified here since there is no trust, no emotions, between the two who is marrying for the sake of their siblings. They also have openly said there is nothing between the two and they don't even consider this a real marriage.

marriage mei do logo ke emotions jude rehte unme trust hona jaruri hona chahiye aur prenups se kamzor hosakta.

Yes, I was wrong to compare it with life insurance etc.

But still, I can not see how Prenup is weakening the trust between a couple.

If in future (by any chance) someone asks me to sign a prenup, I feel like I wouldn't be affected. regardless of the fact that I love that person before marriage or not. I would at least be OK with reading the clauses and make a judgement on whether i should sign it or not.

I really can not see the marriage being affected on an emotional side because of that contract.

Maybe it is just me...

I am not just talking about this series.. in general there is this cliche in many ITV series (always accompanied by dramatic cut scenes and music)

I really don't see the devil part of the prenup.

Which is why I feel I am missing something in general.. After a quick net search I really couldn't find a reason for prenup to be any sort of sexist or derogatory contract aimed at the FL.

Again, this whole cliche is pointless when Indian law finds the whole Prenup (and not to forget, the all time favorite trope,.... contract marriages) all illegal..... Making that entire plot point just a filler.

P.S

If the step mom doesn't trust the family shouldn't there be two prenups.. one for Ram and his partner priya

and another for ram's sister and her partner Priya's brother?

Indian prenup has always confused me. Can someone confirm how it works? In the US, prenups only protect what was earned before the parties get together; whatever they earn after the marriage belongs to both parties.

In a country like ours, we treat marriage is made in heaven... But in today's time, people all are definitely getting practical and this prenup is one of the many things in it... People are just not a customized to it. Hence, they would seem upset over a piece of paper deciding the couple would part their ways even before they get married... Also, sometimes it's kind of a sentiment... It may not be a big deal to the rich people but definitely lower families will be appalled at the approach...

Looking at prenup depends on one's perspective... It's not bad... But it's difficult to accept ..

For me Ram reaction was odd. And how come only Priya have to sign the prenup? even Ram have to sign it right?

Yeah his signature was left blank, coz Priya assumed he'd sign. She anyway doesn't give a shit about it. And he obviously won't sign it. For him, her gesture would be sufficient (I am assuming). They'll forget about this prenup. And bring it up after 300 episodes when they are actually separating, and show that the it was never signed. Lol.

I agree with you on the logical basis...having a prenup should be ok...especially, given the context of this marriage- Priya's and her family's background, their loans etc and Ram's secure financial status, it is not evil of Kapoor's to want a prenup...we now-a-days see so many divorces getting ugly and uglier...and girls also sometimes take advantage of the situation or the guy's financial status so its natural for Kapoor's to be worried and want to have a prenup..and since Priya really doesnt want any money, it should be ok for her to sign it too..

I think its just the background of these characters etc...if this was brought up by Ram in a mature, more trusting way privately with Priya and she would have also agreed, it would have been ok...if they had maturely discussed the situations and their concerns with each other, it would have been ok..the elder generations (Priya's mom etc) would never feel this is ok...and the way it was given, at what point..after public roka..if they were so worried, they could have asked for it before fixing the marriage when both parties had a way to walk out..now with public Roka ceremoney, if Priya breaks the marriage citing mistrust, her reputation will again be ruined so she has no choice but to sign it...

I dont think he had a problem with signing it, his issue was that Priya would feel insulted and he didnt want that
