The reason I loved the OG so much is because they devote screen space and time to each couple appropriately. Even for DevTa! The drunk scene was so powerful because Kathir, someone who is silent, had a ton of things to say that night. He poured out his feelings and it was the first time the audience knew how much the marriage affected him.
The CVs are relying a lot on half-baked scenes here. Every time we think Shiva or Raavi will speak, another character comes in between them. Meanwhile, other characters are so underdeveloped that you wonder why they exist... like Dev, Mausa-Pa, sometimes even Kaka. They have 1-2 scenes where they are important, and then they are gone. I'm not even going to talk about the many "friends" that appeared...
A good drunk confession scene would've had at minimum 80% of the episode devoted to Shiva and Raavi. No other characters allowed to intervene. It would've highlighted Shiva's expressions, we should've gotten Shiva reaching out to Raavi, wanting to touch her, but at the same time refusing to touch her because he's disappointed that he could never be her "soulmate." We should've had scenes where he is crying about how he thought it would be all right to marry a girl and give her "life" after she tried to kill herself on the mandap... but now that he's fallen for her, he realizes he's "killing" her as well... just in a different way.
We should've had a scene where he realizes that his Dhara bhabi was wrong (this is very critical as he needs to someday move on from Dhara and think more about Raavi). And then at the end of it all, we should've had a scene of blank defeat... where he "reassures" himself that he'll be fine. He let go of things in the past (this can be a hint for his upcoming education track), and he could let go of things now).
I think they may have drunken confession like Shiva would be hurt that he is trying so hard not get affected that Raavi is staying under same roof with him and the insults the family is throwing at her ( Like in today episode when Suman said something gaay to Raavi ,he did not react) and trying to supress his emotions seeing Raavi's condition like how lonely she feels in that house. So he ends up drinking with his friends this time and comes late at home where Raavi is eventually waiting for him portraying her hidden care . When Raavi sees him coming drunk again, She is angry at him for doing that again but says nothing as she has lost her Haqq to do that but when Shiva stumbles while Walking in aangan towards his room , Raavi helps him to take towards their room because not to disturb anyone 's sleep which can create a scene and also cause Her pregnant Dhara di stress beacuse of her favourite baccha is drunk again. She helps Shiva towards room upon reaching their she tries to leave Shiva but halts in her steps as Shiva held her hand starts weeping and confessing that She should not leaver her and how much he misses her , her irratating talks to annoy him and everything about Raavi and how wishes for happiness , how much her tears affect him , how he did not want to accuse her or throwing insult at her being characterless and what had happen at temple what her friends had said, how he had started liking her and wanted to confess it on reception night and the loneliness he felt after she left the house , how Gaumbi beat him after she felt signing the divorce papers , howw his family was ignoring him , his mahaan babhima had not served him his dinner and how did not wanted to being him Gawar , his desire to study more and being engineer but the situation at that time did not left him any option except leaving his studies and helping Gaumbi at store. He confesses every damn thing he felt to His Raavi which leaves Raavi being guilt and sad that he was doing all this for her happiness and sake and then a determine Raavi decides to save this relationship in anyway till her last breathe. Then consoles her bhoothnaath by huging him that she will never leave also her confession how she hoped that he would stop her at time when she was leaving Pandya Niwas , then how badly she was missing him ata her Maais house , how she snapped at her Maasi when she proposed Pandit ji for her second marriage and her confession to her massi and Anita .How it angered and sadden her when he did that announcement of them divorcing and she is available for marriage at the Janmashtami function like her every emotion for him. Then she tears the divorce papers in front of him and then sleeps huging him for starting a fresh start of their happy and blissful marriage tomorrow morning.
