dont think he was, you only have to look ajay's solo hits they were bigger than suniel, PAK, JPHHT, ishq, ajay was very successful in 90s he only dipped post 2000 and then cameback from 2010. suniel's biggest hits was border and mohra both multistarrers, border sunny deol was the main face of the movie.

Depends on the role and genre. Ajay is a better actor overall but he absolutely sucks at comedy. Sunil was great in Hera Pheri and is more convincing in action movies.

90s ajay was more popular than both suniel and akshay, there was a public poll in 1997 who is most popular action hero, ajay was named most. im an akki fan but ajay was more successful than both of them. PAK was biggest hit of 1991, his 90s was one of his best decades. suniel was popular similar to akshay who was quite popular in early 90s but suniel doesn;t a solo hit from 90s, mohra was parralel hero role, suniel just had the meatier role
