'Bachchans are my buddies' - Preity Zinta By Webmaster, 25 April, 2008 |
![]() She is surprised to hear that some players of her team were shabbily treated and asked to move out of a five-star hotel to a lesser one. Says Preity, "There's no discrimination. We are trying to keep the game as free of glitches as possible. Such stuff aren't helping our efforts at all." Says a source close to the actress, "The last thing they have on mind is to discriminate one player against another. There's only one super-luxury hotel in Mohali and the main squad of 16 were housed there. In addition, Ness and Preity decided to take on 12 cricketers as trainees in a special development programme. These boys were put up in a separate hotel because there was no room at the Taj. The team spirit didn't suffer just because the trainees stayed elsewhere." As for one of trainee-cricketer speaking on the matter of alleged discrimination, the source adds, "The cricketer didn't mean to sound as though he was discriminated against, simply because that was not the intention at all." On tour Preity intends to be totally immersed in the Mohali team's activities for the next month. In July, she leaves for The Unforgettable world tour with the Bachchans. In fact, she flew back from Mohali to Mumbai for a day last week to shoot a promotional video for the concerts. "The Bachchans are my buddies. They asked me. I agreed," Preity explains. |
