UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT

Hope I don't offend anyone

So what I have always noticed is that in every ITV show, the FL is this sati savitri who conveniently gets drunk 'by mistake' because obv...she is sati savitri, she cannot wilfully have alcohol unless the plot requires her to 'accidentally' have it

When I saw yesterday's promo I thought finally, one show where the woman is taking a drink, it's fine (I agree it would be REALLY unprofessional, but Sona is human too...let her make mistakes and face consequences instead of being annoyingly perfect ALL THE TIME) but no, only dev can wilfully have daru and ruin people's evenings, be a drunk for 7 years of his life because he is the male lead, usko har gunah maaf.

I dont even want to discuss this nonsensical cat fight going on. Before, every character even one as annoying as Mami had some shade, some redeeming quality (I always thought that in the beginning at least she was the only one who understood neha)..now this show is bringing tracks like this, women being pitted against each other for some lousy guy...I say let the psycho and Mr Spineless get together, Sona will save herself from the madhouse BIGTIME.

Ppl say this show is 'realistic' and a breath of fresh air, well this show has introduced one of the most regressive plots I have ever seen a 'progressive' show pull off. It teaches men that

1. it's ok to gaslight your partner, never stand up for her,

2.make empty promises, stalk her when you are broken up..its ok as long as you are the hero,

3. get drunk and ruin her engagement

4. Even when you somehow get married never really stand up for her, give time to her, expect her to adjust all the time and never address your mom's paranoia in a healthy way

5. Find temporary solutions

6. "Accidentally" slap your FIL

7. berate your wife for something as basic as returning a loan

8. Tell her to get out over some stupid misunderstanding

9. Insult her career, call her a gold digger, use her insecurities against her when she calls you out

Even then, hey, you are the hero, so you will end up together without really resolving the main "Ishu" (pun intended) ...but don't worry, we will dedicate the rest of the show to your greatness and make a 2nd season to whitewash your character, so everyone is happy. CONGRATULATIONS!

Did I miss something here? Pls keep adding on to the list, i didn't even add season 3 mishaps on this list...let's find out all the shitty things this guy has done!

Love you all for being the only ones who are seeing the BS in this plot...everywhere else it is all gun gaan of how great dev is because of one romantic scene

Those words like bomb n all does not suits much. Its like forcing on audience to beleive that. She has cute face n why writers not stressing on that. Instead of bomb, they can mention she is cute n sona can get insecured from her cute face too..😆

She could be a simple girl, in love with Dev. That would also be enough to make Sona wary.

Me Being 5' 6.5" was pretty tall in my youth & adult life when most girls were max 5' 2" I used to get called pencil, stick etc and was very slim. So that happens. In US I just fit in. By US standard I am considered to be average 😃 Still taller than most friends & I am OK with that.

Sana is cute and has a pretty girl next door look .

But Neither does Sanjana look like a - "bomb", all men are craving for, nor does she look intelligent and hardworking enough to produce those interior designs. Professional women have a special vibe which is completely missing in Sanjana.

And , It is difficult to Surpass Erica's "beauty and brain " look .

It would have been a better story if Sanjana were their neighbor who is loved by the children and Ishwary equally, and taking control of the family gradually but surely, while Erica is shown busy with her work .

No ITV show deserves to be called realistic or even close to realism. Our writers and directors are just not capable of doing that... Indians are so deep rooted with dramatic notions..they can't do without it. Instead they do it excessively. Any fan or writer/director who call an xyz show as realistic..are just deluding themselves.

Dev if he was a side character...he would be put in jail, thrashed brutally and so on for the list mentioned above. But since he is the ML...he gets away with it.

Now though he seems to have to toned down in this season but some of his innate qualities are still there... possessiveness, gaslighting, ignoring wife's concerns, etc. They are trying to redeem him since the past two weeks...so let's give him his due. Yes...it doesn't undo what he has done in the past...but we are all trying to be better. As long as he isn't back to being ignorant towards his wife... I would say they are trying to shape his character for the better atleast when it comes to his wife. About Sanjana...well he is dumb. It's really too much to expect him to notice her obsession. This guy himself lives in a bubble most of the times...kisi aur ka bubble kya dikhega isko!

In that party only natasha n sona dress were pretty. Otherwise rest all were in very avg dressing. I felt eri n natasha got their outfits from their home, n that's why it was better compare to others😆

This is the ITV convention - ML can drown himself in alcohol because that's the only way out😆 But that simply let's out a wrong message. There are many other ways you can use to cope with reality. So yeah, if Sona chose to drink when she hasn't ever done it to come out of situations, I'd have been disappointed. But yes, everyone is allowed to make mistakes, & here, it isn't even her fault that she's having to go through this mess.

I disagree on the sati savitri thing though. Sona is shown to have flaws which make her more relatable. She's not miss know-it-all, although sometimes she may sound preachy😆 But she's made her share of mistakes, the biggest one is choosing Dev :')

Well well, makers know that there'll be a huge section of the fan following swooning over the ML, so anything he does is totally justified. I, for one, hate Dev from the core of my heart😳 But guess what? There will be people after you & me, because we see beyond his puppy face, his charm, etc. I remember during S1, when Sona called Dev spineless, not once but twice😆, people didn't leave any opportunity to question her & defend Dev lol. And that's not the end of it...

Talking about Dev & Ishwari's misdeeds, there's no end to it. I don't want to make my blood boil trying to think of what & all they've done.

@bold- I so agree!! IF is the only place where I can find people who think on similar lines.. on twitter and all, the madness is unreal. So I totally avoid it. (I may seem to be a groupbie, but this is my second account as I lost my first one due to mail id issues😆)
