This is a duet and would not work otherwise. The singing effort is very well balanced between the two.

Strangely, for me the video works better but I feel it actually needs a proper music video in a dry field with cut hay piles and a dead tree.🤣

Very creative visualization! That would work, for sure. For me it sounded more like an Assamese farmer couple in the rice fields or even tea plantations 😊

By the way, let me just explain that I am such a die-hard KK fan that no other male singer can completely impress me no matter how good. This is in an Indian context but I have eclectic worldwide taste in music and spend nights listening to Luciano Pavarotti or Plácido Domingo.

The female singer mind space is not blocked because, blasphemously, though I like the way the great legend sings I am not a fan of the tonal quality at all. So I enjoy it when someone sings her songs in a less nasal tone. There are female singers in other countries that I rave about, so there is scope for Indian Hindi singers to make a mark :) Bengali female singer spot is kind of taken many years ago 😃

Couldn't agree more with you about KK. In any duet with any other singer male or female, when he comes in, the whole song just gets lifted to another level altogether. And what can be said about his solos!

And yes, on global music - I don't listen much to Pavarotti or Domingo, as my global taste is more around Rock, Pop, Country. But I can totally identify with what you say above.

He has a whole host of Bengali legend songs too that I can listen to whenever I feel I need something to relax. You should hear them if you have not.

I also forgot to mention that I am a great Bade Ghulam Ali fan too. One one regret is not to have heard him live. Kishoreda I have heard in private - one of the greatest memories of my life. Before you ask, I had connections with the Late Pankaj Mullick and had opportunities to hear people that others may not have had.

Octopus seems to be doing a lot to help market Arunita and Pawandeep, doubtlessly getting some mileage themselves in return.

Awesome! I have heard Kishore Kumar in a concert but I can imagine private session is an altogether different experience!

My exposure to Bangla is limited to having learnt a bit of the language. Haven't heard Kishore Kumar's songs much, though I am aware of the legendary discography he has.

Many film aficionados have heard one of his Bengali songs - Ami chini go chini tomare from Ray's Charulata though they might not know he sang it, and for free! 😃 Worth a listen.
