Any of these women rights movie from last 20 years
Thats the beginning of the list 😆
Also any film where the lead character has a "disability they have to overcome"
Thats also boring to watch

I'd say DCH.
A great movie in its own right, but it's not some path-breaking cinema as many new wave journos or fans claim.

DCH was a mediocre film, but it was the pioneer in the looks (As well as technical) department. Pre-DCH BW was paindu looking.

Huh? Sholay, Khamoshi, HDDCS, 1942, etc., etc., weren't world class look-wise?
What technique did it inspire?

But it was if you keep the time it came out, in mind. No other Bollywood film like it had come before DCH in terms of styling, humor, combination of comedy-drama. Usually, BW films were either entirely slapsticks or romance dramas. This one focused on a lot of issues at once but infused a fair amount of humor along the way. It also catered to urban Indians in India which most films before this had not.
If anyone considers 'DDLJ' path breaking, then I'd take it's name.
Lage raho munnabhai
I remember ppl talked abt this like it was a once in century kinda movie
I saw it and was like “cute” ….that’s it
I agree Raju hirani makes entertaining movies but I wouldn’t call any path breaking tbh
He relies on inherent goodness and some childish humour here n there but dosent show pathbreaking technique, or anything that will change or inspire a generation of filmmakers
Sholay didn't start the trend of Masala movies.
DDLJ didn't start the trend of Rom-coms.
Dabangg didn't restart the trend of Masala movies or start the trend of South Indian styled movies.
TM better be clear on what path breaking means otherwise people would start bashing any movie they hate.
