Are the guys indian? Then ignore them. Indian males are like that..always proposing to girls. You are not giving them any wrong signal.

When I was in a whatsapp group, lots of such guys used to text me..one of them even attempted a video call. Pyar vyar kuch nahi. They are just wasting their time.

I was in your boat once upon a time during my halkat jawani. I felt like I couldn’t befriend any guy because they always ended up confessing. Similar to you, I‘d also feel guilty thinking that I unintentionally sent mixed signals or led them on. I’m just super friendly with everyone and have always had more guy mates than girls (I get along with them more).

I’ve lost two of my closest friendships because feelings got in the way and I distanced myself in response. I hated myself, thinking that I was to blame. I used to call them my brothers, and told them that they’re family to me. I wanted to establish a barrier from day one. But that doesn’t always work.

Now I look back and tell myself that it wasn’t my fault. From day one, I made my feelings and intentions very clear (I called them BROTHER FFS). I set boundaries and all my mates were aware of how I felt. So long as you’ve maintained that and made your intentions clear, then it’s not your problem if they catch feelings.

Don’t blame yourself. Just take it as a compliment and respect that you must be an amazing person for everyone to fall for you. I’d thank them graciously and move on. Otherwise if you aren’t friends with a guy and they randomly hit on you, and you’re not interested then just ignore them.

I had a guy once threaten to slap me but oh well

You know them irl, they approach you online.

I think you are too soft in person and can’t say no or are afraid of offending people.

I’m pretty terrifying at times. 😆

Once a guy was following me and the look I gave him, he mouthed “ I’m sorry” and ran away 🤣

I would suggest you to be a bit truthful to people.

It happens when you are too friendly with guys and they definitely take it the wrong way. You can’t get personal with everyone, you know.. especially true with Desi guys.. many of them don’t even have good intentions.

For one of my friends it was so bad.. he just wouldn’t take no. She lives and worked alone in a apartment in the city and he made his friend stalk her. His friend would message, “bhabhi.. aapke kapde bahar sukh rahe hai.. it’s raining.. hata lo.” Letting her know that she is being stalked. It was terrifying as she didn’t know who it was. Finally she called the cops late at night around 3 AM.. and you know Indian police.. they took two hours to find her house 🤣

Next day - the guy showed up and said, “I never thought you would call the police.” And he even had a gun with him threatening to kill himself.. she talked him out of it and severed all ties.. she also scared him saying she will go to the cops if he tries to get in touch and he never contacted her again..

OMG that sounds terrifying! Your poor friend, I can’t even imagine how scared she was. Unreciprocated crushes/love is one thing but stalkers are next level scary. When I was 16, my family friend confessed his love to me. He even took a strand of my hair and put it in some kind of box. I was so horrified and my colourful imagination conjured up thoughts that he collected my hair to perform voodoo on me. I then went and told all my friends that if I started acting weird and suddenly liked this guy, then take me to an exorcist ASAP (😆).

He gave me a bad dua and wished that I tasted the heartbreak of rejection. He then stopped eating, got sick and had to get hospitalised. He sent me an email saying that it’s my fault and if he dies, it’s all on me. I couldn’t sleep for a whole week and was even too scared to tell my mum about it, because I thought it was my fault he was self-harming. I would cry and beg him to stop scaring me and was so depressed. I was too scared to go online.

Then one day we had some kind of sandstorm shit happen and the sky had turned orange. This guy thought his bad dua had come true and I got punished for my crimes. He apologised and I blocked him.

Another incident: my roommate was looking for guys to ge my married thoroughly shaadi.com etc.

She liked a guy and was kind of dating him. He lived and worked in Mumbai. So sometimes he would come to Delhi.. sometimes she would go there with her best friend etc. She became friends with his roommate.. Vaibhav.. so he would sometimes call her etc. I questioned her.. why is HE calling you so much..? I told her he wants something else right there 😆She dismissed it saying no.. just a friend etc.

Some time back she went to Mumbai and partied with him and all his friends.. they (all boys and girls) stayed at their apartment at night.. he thought she was drunk and tried to take advantage.. touching her etc.

I told her, I told you so!!

Desi men are like that, most of them.. so be a bit careful in reading their intentions. There are good guys too, but majority of them just flirt for fun.

I have had married men hit on me too at work, including men who are 15 years older than me & have kids. I don’t drink so one of them was even forcing me to drink and gave him such a earful infront of everyone (he was my manager’s level and I insulted him like anything 😆). We were actually on an unofficial trip with 25 other people from office. He did end up making a couple of girls too drunk and he was all over them 😆
