I like Disha as Priya in it - she gives Kashaf vibes from ZGH ... and the setup is the same; father remarried cuz there were 4 daughters with first, and then he got a son (who is a loser) from second wife. I do find the characters of father n step-family to be OTT - i think ZGH was more subtle in showing that.
Nakul as Ram K is so far in devdas mode - unable to come out of a girl who ditched him and married another rich person ... his friends circle is fun and interesting to watch. He belongs to the fake snob rich circle where every relation is a pretense basically but the dude is a nice guy at heart ; his family kinda sucks.
I am liking it - there is also some mystery elements, which are only flashed across so will unfold as story progresses... and as i mentioned before if it turns into too much evil vamp type drama i may stop. The father and step-family stuff bothers me a lot.
I never followed the first one but many of my friends did so I know bits and pieces only. The character arcs have been swapped apparently, so Nakuul's character is similar to Sakshi as Priya in the original one. The scene where Nakuul as Ram cheers Priya up is the same as the original one if I remember correctly. Ekta might keep the gist of the storyline/plot same but make occasional changes because it's a different generation of target audience this time.
