His mother seemed to be a progressive lady since Binoy did mention that she was educated yet was capable of handling household responsibilities also. The way he remembers his mother, she seems to have a great hand in shaping his personality. Maybe, he became emotionally alone after her death until he met his partner in Bondita.
We have also witnessed choti Bondita balancing household work with her studies although she did it mostly to maintai
