I mean even VD had to showcase his true colors once Pallavi started going against him. In Mandar's case, as long as Pallavi was going as per his whim, his facade would continue but his true color would be out once she deviates from set path.

Even his mother knew his true colors coz there must have been a slip up somewhere

What Aaditri meant was in real life psychos like him seem pretty normal. They don't expose themselves much. It is tv shows that underestimate their intelligence.
