It's not everyone, who can afford to do chores for their sisters and their kids etc. But I am glad that sisters is equal in doing chores for their brothers in so many families.

I don't have a brother, but I feel it's not fair that we expect the men to always buy gifts, give money and be the protector of the girls. Here in tamil culture, they also expect your Mom's brother to give gifts/money to their nieces and nephews occasionally. I pity the men for this.
Don't know about others, but I don't expect gifts from my brothers at all. Except on Rakshabandhan which is kind of mandatoryš But, it's not just my brothers, I also take gifts from my sister when I tie rakhi to her. Same with all elders and not just men.
