Friends, I have read just now some serious discussion going on from few pages. If you excuse me, I would like to put few points, After shuddhikaran ritual, and when Anirudh got released from jail, Thakuma confronted him ‘why did you leave her’. He told that at that time of sati ritual, he doesn’t have any opportunity to save her than marrying her. If he have any other option, he could not have married her. So, it is clear that he didn’t develop feelings till that time, he promised her that he will always consider her as a part of his life despite what name will their relationship they have. He felt so lonely when she left to London, like missing his true friend to share his sorrows, pains when required in crucial time. also hesitated to write the word ‘love’ in his unposted letters kept in separate room.

First thing, CC did not intend to wait for Bon to grow up. If Bon had not run away, CC would have gotten his SR with a 12 year old. Ani on the other hand was not just waiting for Bon to 'grow up'. That would be grooming. He simply freed her to make her own choice, while knowing that for Ani there would be no one else. Sending her away and the no-contact clause was part of the whole thing. Thakur, CC, and Ani all found a 12 year old attractive on the hormonal level. But the way they behaved was different. Thakur chose to act on his lust and molest her. CC chose to marry her and gain his husbandly rights. But Ani, who actually could have acted on those emotions and no one would have objected, chose to not pursue any kind of romantic relationship with Bon until she grew up and chose him.
Because while attraction is not wrong, acting on it would be wrong.

makers developed both of them with thim-boht ani and bon are gems-both make each other both complete ach other-bon is not moulded by ani na hi he remeained with her for 8 years but he was there with her fpor 1 year and gave her wings and bon grew up all alone without anyone and becme the firl she is today
if u see she came back and realsied love -it was not grooing
if we see post leap episode 1-we would see the bon who isaltogether different

I didn't say showing attraction between a child and a grown up is fine in the present day setting. I only said we cannot judge a character from a historical drama with 21st century moral compass. The concept of right and wrong is not constant. It changes with time and it changes with different cultures too. There is something called social conditioning. Through social conditioning many beliefs will be naturalized and will be part of our belief system. The inability to accept that a good man can have attraction to a 12 year old is also part of the social conditioning of the society in which we live.
It is a fact that all human beings have wild animalistic impulses. We all have wild desires which we will never reveal to anyone, sometimes not even to our own conscious self. So controlling these impulses and channelizing them to socially accountable, moralistic paths matters a lot. How best a person can control the wild side, ultimately makes a person good or bad.
About fiction portraying such relationships is again depends on the social and historical background of the work. Many of the heroines from internationally famous works are under age girls. For example the much celebrated Juliette is just 14. Juliette and most of Shakespeare's heroines became underage because of the historical era in which he wrote it.
I watch BB because it never celebrated any of the social evils like CM or polygamy. The makers showed the negative side of these social evils through the lives of the protagonists themselves
Again, what I'm saying is not about what was normal back then and what isn't normal now. I am talking about two things - 1. our mindset to accept and actually say it is okay for this man to be attracted to this child preleap. It is wrong and shouldn't be romanticized.
2. Especially this is more so wrong for a character like Anirudh, every action of this man shows that he is not realistically possible in human standards.
I know what social conditioning is. I understand how biology, history, psychology all impact our understanding and view of life and world. In another 100 years, maybe they will normalize children being adults but that does not mean I will consider it right thing to be done, I will never accept it no matter what logic or science backs it up.
All the impulses, all the conditioning, all the history you cite does not apply to this man because he this character who has always stood against these things and never showed an inclination to even entertain these thoughts.
If you took some other person or a character randomly and said all this, I would have understood these reasoning but how can anyone think that about Anirudh? Animalistic impulses kya hai usme? When has he ever showed an inclination of physical, normally induced biological attraction towards Bondita? Even now, post leap, he has yet to touch her in that manner.
Fiction can show you a lot of things, Greek Mythology is a prime example of how love of any form can be accepted by humans. Fiction can make you accept anything as right because there is no boundaries or lines that cannot be crossed when you enter the fictional realm but it again, depends on us to take the right interpretation and message to spread to others. Just because 100 years ago Shakespeare wrote that a 14 year old girl fell in love one day and gave up her life for him does not mean I consider it to be right, romantic hoga, epic hoga, sab hoga but it will never be right. That is not the message you want to share with others. That is not something you want to normalize.
But, even at this point, I cannot compare Anirudh to some Shakespeare's hero because they are not the same, they weren't written with the same mindset or they do not have the same essence. They are as different as white and black.
Look at Anirudh, look at his every action and behavior, look at what Pravisht speaks about him, consider everything and then tell me, it is possible for this man to have entertained the thoughts of physical attraction towards this child.
If you still say yes, then I don't think our entire discussion will go any further because that's nether the interpretation nor the message I will ever share 😆
