Mommie I am in second year .
I have studied anatomy, physiology and biochemistry in first year.
Second year has pathology, pharmacology and microbiology.
Postings started in second year and obs gyn was my first. And I loved it. Even if all I did was take and present histories but I learnt a good bit in wards.
As for my favorite subject- it was physio in first year and patho in second year. I like pharma too but not before exams(all those drug names and exams )
Awesome ❤️
Lol, I'm a second year as well 😆, but medical school is set up very differently. Just a 4 year curriculum with 2 years as pre-clinical education (with some exposure to the clinic of taking histories, coming up with plans) and 2 years of clinical education + rotations. Because we need to take undergraduate studies, we already finished most of the biochemistry, biology background, and now just learn organ systems.
We learn a mix of everything when doing the organs. So for reproductive unit, we learn the anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, etc. Second year is the shortest (I will be finished by ending of February), but then I will take 2 months to study for boards. Then it's rotations in third year... surgery, OB, psychiatry, family medicine, pediatrics, neurology, in patient medicine, emergency medicine, critical care... And then 4th year is applying for residencies!
4th year is the lightest, and 3rd year is the worst 🤣 So the worst is yet to come for me 🤣
