When Krish knew....
Hello folks, and sorry for the late update... I suspect that this might be slightly too long for a drabble, but it was too short for an OS, so, I called it a drabble, plus, that sounds cuter😁.
(For that last scene, I was imagining Raavi the way she looks in the scene from the prewedding sabzi phenking day.)

Krish had always been the closest to Shiva and Raavi, always, for as long as he could remember. The why of it was pretty simple to him, really.
He had been too small to truly connect with his own mother before she'd been paralysed. Gaumbi had been too old to be a true brother and Dev had simply been too Dev for Krish, too good, too disciplined, too oblivious. Hence, one had become his father figure while the other had become the brother Krish went to for help with homework, and the one he played with when they needed to make teams, because joining Shiva's team tended to end up with him at the deeper end of the trouble pool. And no matter how much Dhara bhabhi had tried to give him a mother's love, Krish had always acknowledged deep inside that she wasn't, really.
And so it had been Shiva, who could handle all his mischief single handedly, and Raavi, who was the only one who somehow managed to get into more trouble than him, that became his confidantes. And despite their epic rivalry, they almost always agreed on matters concerning him.
Krish should have known, really, that for all the secrets those two had kept for him there would come a time when he would have to return the favor.
Krish still remembered Raavi's first, and last, karva chauth vrat. While the whole family had been shocked when Shiva had broken Raavi's vrat, they had all quickly written it off as typical Shiva and Raavi. Everyone had then gone on to sleep, while Krish had used the opportunity to use Dev's phone, and to his immense pleasure, the sleepy head hadn't even noticed.
Upon hearing the main doors creak open, Krish had hastily closed the phone and pulled the sheets up to his head out of the fear of being caught by Shiva, only his eyes peeking out. And then he had seen something that had him wondering if he'd gone crazy. He had seen Shiva grinning to himself. It had taken him another moment to realise that the wierd redness to his brother's cheeks was a blush!! Krish had kept his eyes on his brother still, wondering if he was dreaming, as he had laid down on his bed and pulled his phone out, clearly texting someone.
But it wasn't until a minute later when he had seen a still grinning Shiva happily mumbling "chipkaliyon ki beauty queen" before falling asleep that Krish had truly believed that it was just one of his too real dreams.
But the next morning he still remembered his dream. And the next, and the next, and the next. He had observed the two of them as closely as he could, and despite the occasional suspicious moment where their fighting seemed less fighting and more, flirting, their rivalry was still one without ceasefire. Or so it seemed, until today.
With the whole house empty for the day, Krish had rushed back home when his last lecture for the day had been cancelled. He had been gleefully planning to make the most of the empty house when he'd heard the sound of someone giggling, a girl. Curious, he'd peeked into the kitchen from around the door only to see Raavi giggling at someone while she made rotis on their stove. Wondering who she was talking to, Krish moved forward only to freeze as he caught sight of his brother Shiva sitting on the kitchen slab beside her, grinning at whatever Raavi was mumbling under her breath.
He watched as his brother put on his poker face saying, "Ay chipkali, jyaada udd mat tu, bhabhi nahi hain, isiliye teri haath ke khana chup chaap khaa raha hoon, varna isse to main mud ke dhekunga bhi nahin."
"Haan, aur kal teri pyaari bhabhi kahaan gaayab ho gaye ki iss aag boy ko mere haath ke bhindi maangna pada? ", Raavi asked him, still smiling while Shiva glowered at her.
" Ay, jyaada taang keechne ke baarein main sochna bhi mat, varna peeche baithi teri chipkali behen ke haath saunp doongi tujhe." At which point, finally, something happened that Krish expected. Raavi let go of the roti in her hand, choosing instead to cling to Shiva as well as she could while screaming at the top of her voice. But where he had expected Shiva to calmly detach himself from the arms Raavi had thrown around his neck, his brother pulled her closer with the hand not holding onto his plate, pecking her on the cheek as Raavi stared at his face silently, a blush rising up her cheeks.
It was at this point that a still leaning forward Krish had finally lost balance and stumbled forward, watching as his brother got up and pushed Raavi behind him while she managed to keep a hold of his shirt, holding Shiva back from attacking the apparent intruder.
Well, all Krish could think was, kam se kam iss baar to mere sapne sacchai se kam ajeeb lage hain...
