Vivek Oberoi in that sense did the right thing by calling a press conference but people only laughed at him (rather than playing a victim it should have been how he’s harassing a woman). Salman gets a leeway for everything he does. I hope he gets his karma.

We, as people are equally to blame because no one took it very seriously. There was no social media back then.. though I would not blame myself because I was too small 😆

Back then things were quite different. Ppl thought it's personal matter so vivek should not have opened up. What Kangana said about karan johar in this decade if would have said at that time than she would have suffered same fate as vivek.

@bold, so true.

Though her attitude and behaviour now has made it evident that she is not any better than him, maybe even worse in many ways.

The problem with Vivek was, he made it about himself rather than Aishwarya..she was the one who was really suffering at that point of time. All other celebrity friends were also involved with each other which complicated things. I honestly don’t understand though why they put up with his behaviour.

The issue with viveks press Conf was not that he took a stand against Salman

It was coz he did so without consulting ash , whose personal life was involved AND he made it about himself and threw a few machismo exhibiting lines in there to come off as the hero

The act and intention were right …execution went horribly wrong

The lady moved on and married into Bollywood royalty to stay relevant. In the process, a promising actor's career got destroyed - not that he deserves any sympathy for his stupid attempts at making amends to Solman bhai...

You have a very valid point.. I can't comment if his intentions were genuine or not but it looked like he thought it would be 'good publicity'.

Had there been social media at the the time; things would have been very different indeed.

He ended up making the situation worse for her.

She did and SK admitted that he was banned from ever entering her building.

I think the public in general is more to blame for all of this.

I think it was a wise decision only given that she became a Bachan bahu, else she would have faded into obscurity.
