To be fair though, Ahaan is perhaps one of the very few least regressive male leads on ITV IMO, because he at least tries to redeem himself. He doesn't even come close to most of the male characters that are romanticized and glorified on ITV shows. I had watched season 1 Naagin on Colors, after the leads had gotten married (2-3 episodes), the husband was cute but how the hell is he also kept in the dark by his mother.

I don’t know if she was his mother or something but his father was not his actual father, he was some maali kaka
