I sincerely hope they go with Ayushman Rohit Verma itself, because in what world is it a legal requirement that the father's name must be attached to your legal name? Like Dev said- "naam jo bhi ho, beta toh mera hi hai na?" My own name in fact, has no trace of my father's name (not even his last name), despite my parents being very happily married for the past 25 years (I'm 23).
This Dixit family is so insane overall. We all know Ishwari is a horrible toxic woman. She even knew her daughters would have an issue with it, and made an excuse not to tell them. GKB is a joker as is. But Maamaji? He knows this is wrong, he knows it's happening without Dev or Sona's knowledge- how is he letting it happen? Why wouldn't he at least call Dev? What a stupid bunch these Dixits are.
If you watch the previous seasons carefully, Mamaji has never really intervened or solved any problem even though he observes everything & understands everything. Most often, his wise observation & conveyance of it where it wasn't needed have actually caused trouble.
For example,
1. When Dev told Ishwari about Devakshi's relation, Ishwari was unhappy, but she didn't know why. Mamaji came & specifically asked whether she was afraid that aab bete ka pyar baantna padhega. Which I think made Ishwari see Sonakshi as her competitor & make matter so many times worse than it already was.
2. When Ishwari downed those pills it was again Mamaji who swiftly put the idea in Dev's head that he has failed to notice his mother's pain, his mother's disliking towards Sonakshi. This is what made Dev take the rash decision of breaking up instantly.
3. When Ishwari was upset that Dev was addressing Asha as Maa, it was again Mamaji who pointed it out to Dev that Dev calling someone else Maa have hurt Ishwari. Which resulted in Dev calling Asha Aunty.
& so on....
Mamaji is only mature & understands the situation better, but at the end of the day he wants to keep his sister safe & happy, irrespective of whether she is doing right or wrong. I thought very highly of Mamaji when I first watched season 1....but after rewatching it few times, I have realised that he is also a very problematic character. So I don't expect him to actually do anything that might solve a problem.
